Last night at 12:19am my son James was born under a single payer system.
I had always thought that a single payer system was vastly greater than a private for profit system, but boy was I incredibly wrong.
Follow below for the horrific conditions we had to endure under this socialistic system.
After an 8 hour labor my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
This is James
Of course prior to this we had weekly checkups provided by the hospital we chose and the doctor of our choice. He is a wonderful doctor who spoke fluent English and studied at Harvard Medical. During one of our visits I had asked him if he wouldn't mind discussing the Single Payer system and I was shocked to learn he was completely pleased with only working for around 15 million JPY (around 150,000/year). I mean seriously what kind of socialist would achieve the highest level of education at one of the premier schools in the world (Harvard Med) and only make that ammount. He said he enjoys his work and gains satisfaction from being one of the top pediatricians in Japan.
So after James was born I learned that it was mandatory for my wife to spend one week in the hospital recuperating from labor, and under this socialist system I wondered what kind of cramped room full of recovering patients we would be forced to endure.
Here is a pic of the room she is currently in:
I mean seriously its THAT small, and look at the size of that television, and the mini-fridge...
There arent even any curtains on the screen glass windows and we are forced to endure this view:
Of course I think James already knows the horror he is suffering, just look at the look upon realizing he would have health care for free until he is 18
That my friends is a look of pure horror.
I mean just to post this blog post I had to use an actual LAN cord
Where is the Wi-Fi? And I thought Japan was supposed to be high tech.
Well as you can see, we will endure as best we can. But we are hoping to escape to the land of incredible Health care in the US I keep hearing about from the Republicans...
Update: We just figured out there ARE curtains, they were just the pull down kind which were a bit hidden. Damn socialists with their tricky curtain systems.
