Keyword: Success or lack there of.
I hope that some of you are watching or listening to CSpan this morning. There are hearings on Iraq, headed by Christopher Shays. It is jaw dropping the amount of corruption and incompetence that has flourished under private contracters in Iraq. No water, no jobs, enormous corruption in Halliburton, no bid contracts without pay........no success!
David Walker, the US Comptroller General is taking the Defense Department contracters to task for a complete lack of performance! They are being paid for their (worthless) efforts, not results. No deadlines, no results, just more money!
and they are asking for more money, in spite of the complete lack of success
Privatizing government contracts is a failure. The grade for the "free markets" privatization plan is a big fat F. They are stealing your taxpayer dollars under the guise of private conracters who have not gotten the job done.
This disgusting waste of tax payer money is pervasive in "this government".
For the first time in these hearings, people are asking for accountability of the entire Defense Department and their privatizing ways. The problem is serious.
No auditing. No accountability. Just pure corruption. Where is the success
The privatization of government has betrayed the people of this country and of Iraq.
Welcome to the New Democracy, that actually works. One presented to you by progressive, liberal Democrats, who actually believe in government.
As we all feel a sense of impatience, frustration and doom, there is an urgency swelling among the people of this country. In spite of the Murdoch controlled Media, in spite of tons of crap being poured over our heads.....
..... there is an excitement in the air as a thirst for a functioning democracy screams to born again.
We Can Revive the Spirit of the American Revolution
A spirit where ideas flourish and there is a call for Sunshine,Morality and Integrity in serving our country as a civil society, that calls for the common good for the sake of a functioning government. Where government is good and serves the people.
As Michael Tomasky writes in the current issue of The American Prospect, Democrats and their allies must destroy the current political ``paradigm'' based on ``radical individualism'' and replace it with a politics of the ``common good.'' Only a larger argument rooted in a different conception of government and society, Tomasky argues, will allow the party to ``do a lot more than squeak by in this fall's (or any) elections based on the usual unsatisfying admixture of compromises.''
This government needs to achieve real success that will benenfit all of the American people. These are the words spoken by David Walker on how to achieve success in Iraq. Those same words are the prescription for success in the country.
The lie that privatization is good for a society has shown its true colors in the complete lack of success in Iraq.
The truth that a government that is held accountable, that functions for the common good, is the key to success.
Success is a word we don't hear often these days. Let's start using it, in terms of framing the failure of the Republican agenda, and in terms of the beautiful Democracy that successfully support its citizens all.
It is the Ideology stupid!
Exciting developments for the common good of the people are on the horizon.
Democracy and and Ideas
The Corrupt FDA
Katrina and the Day of Republican Reckoning
Success, use the word often and liberally. The lack of it in the GOP, and the promise of it for the Progressive movement.
We can revive the spirit of the revolution and we can take our country back.
