It looks like Bush is going to appoint one of his lickspittles, South Carolina House Speaker David Wilkins, as the
new ambassador to Canada.
A top Republican fundraiser for U.S. President George W. Bush is widely expected to become Washington's new ambassador to Canada
David Wilkins, longtime House Speaker of the South Carolina legislature, is believed to be the front-runner for the post in Ottawa. Wilkins, a 58-year-old attorney who has served as Speaker since 1994, would replace Paul Cellucci, whose four-year term as Canadian ambassador ended last month
He has close ties to the current president and to Bush's father, former U.S. president George H.W. Bush
But there's little evidence he knows much about the Canadian political culture, having spent most of his career in the politics of the southern United States.
Clearly Bush is not sending this Republican stooge up to our country to foster better relations but for the sole reason of bellowing orders at us.
So it's time to help out your neighbours to the north by letting us know all there is to know about this guy.
