If rights are endowed to the individual by the Creator, how can any organization of people have more rights and fewer responsibilities than the people that make up that organization?
If governments are insituted among the people to preserve our rights, how can government create a new class of person that threatens the rights of the people who created that government?
If rights are not innate to the individual, you have only privileges, granted and revoked at the pleasure of your ruler. With this ruling, SCOTUS has voided the concept of innate rights by presuming to grant rights to corporations.
From Rep. Grayson's diary
We have filed five bills to reverse this assault, the Save Our Democracy package. Tell your Congressmen and your Senators -- "This must pass". In the meantime, you can still sign the petition at www.savedemocracy.net, and together we will move forward.
That's the serious stuff. Let's move on to the ridiculous....
If corporations are people, can we draft Haliburton to fight its own war?
If corporations are people, and corporations are created by groups of men, is that a homosexual union with a child?
If corporations are people, will we tax them as individuals, married head of household (see previous), or married filing jointly?
If corporations are people, and corporations can be dissolved, do corporations have a right to euthanasia?
If corporations are people, will they be counted in the 2010 census? How many more Representatives will Delaware get?
If corporations are people, and articles of incorporation are paper, what other documents are people?
There's gotta be a million of these--please pile on in the comments
