I've had it. All of the sick rationalizations about torture, all of the demonizing of liberals, all of the divisiveness of BushCo (Oh, sure, he's a uniter not a divider, and I can turn lead into gold), all of the smug rants from the right - all of it.
How anyone can justify any torture is beyond me. Bush is a sick FUCK; Rove is sicker. The chickenhawks that glorify a little torture in the name of war would pee their pants if they ever had to hold someone down and beat them to death, though it might be hard to tell if they're losing control due to sexual excitement or disgust.
If you think Rove and the Republicans are making these wild accusations about Democrats being traitors (O'Reilly) or waging war on our soldiers is not a concerted and planned effort, just consider how suddenly these wackos have all come out with statements.
More below the fold
They're just Nazi stormtroopers and nothing more. It's a very organized effort to take the country, and I wouldn't be surprised if they used a build-up of arguments to justify GWB remaining in power in 2008. Just keep this prediction handy.
These people, like Hitler, are sick fucks that are using nationalism and religion to co-opt our country out from under us. Don't be surprised to see "Gott Mit Uns" (God is With Us) on the soldiers' belt buckles soon. Remember, the coach at the AF Academy football program put "Team Jesus Christ" on a banner in the practice area, so don't think it ain't coming.
Bush, like Hitler, has also tied nationalism and corporate interests. SCOTUS oks the taking of private property so that it can be given to other private property owners; how sick is that? Who would have ever thought?
Rove and the PNAC (look it up in my blog at: http://larblog.blogspot.com - search for PNAC) think that they need to 'save' us and to make the world safe for the US. On the PNAC website, that is their stated objective.
These are sick, dangerous people, and at least 1/2 of this country buys into it, just like the Germans did in 1933, so don't think it won't happen - no, don't think it ISN'T HAPPENING - here.
What I'm amazed at is how the liberals think that Rove is doing what he's doing without the express knowledge of our Cretin in Charge, or that the Republican leadership isn't part of the overall plan. A president would go ballistic if someone on his staff or someone in Congress from his party said the things these assholes are saying - and Bush is uniquely quiet, isn't he?
After the past several days of the Republicans denigrating Democrats - including Democrats in uniform, and all of the holier-than-thou rationalizations of how torture isn't really such a bad thing as long as we're not tearing out eyes and cutting out tongues (and who knows? Maybe the Right would think that's ok, also?), I have had it.
This is not the country I grew up in. This is not the country I volunteered for the Navy for in 1969. This is not the country that I want to live in anymore.
And that's putting it nicely.
