Big Journalism, one of Breitbart's websites, has named St. Louis's favorite hatemongering radio personality on Tea Party Radio 97.1 FM and Ringleader of the STL Teabagger Hate Cabal Dana Loesch to editor-in chief of Big Journalism. Actually, Loesch would fit in given her history of outright distortions, lies, and peddling hate speech that poisons the St. Louis Metro Area/Metro East. Loesch also helped put up the Dump Dede site, then took it down to prevent fact-checking. She is also well-known for NOT allowing comments on her blogs, thus making her a coward and a scaredy-cat. She has also alienated her Liberal-leaning fans and even some Conservatives as well from her Mamalogues days due to her political activity. Don't forget that Loesch was an ex-Democrat.
It appears that Loesch is headed straight down the path to be the Ann Coulter/Laura Ingraham of the Midwest (and St. Louis) in a lot of ways.
Match made in heaven: Fact-free RW blogger now edits Breitbart’s "journalism" site
According to Andrew Breitbart’s website Big Journalism, Dana Loesch is now the site’s editor. And yes, it’s a perfect fit because Big Journalism exists as an open forum for right-wing misinformation about the press (as opposed to a site that produces actual journalism), and Loesch has made a name for herself within the RW blogosphere by making stuff up. (She does the same on the AM dial.)
Actually, it's the FM Dial, on 97.1 here in STL.
More details from DanaBusted.com:
St. Louis's Teabagger Hack Dana Loesch is now the Editor-In-Chief for BigJournalism. Loesch is still expected to work for PJTV, in addition to spewing hate on KFTK daily on The Dana Show.
Too bad Dana can't turn the comments off on her blogs over at Breitfart's sites, like she can over at her blogs (Mamalogues and DanaRadio). There was one hatemail piece earlier this week that tore her apart for NOT allowing comments on her blogs, unlike most Conservative blogs.
St. Louis Activist Hub: Dana Loesch attacks Liberal Feminists for political reasons
Dana Loesch, who claims to be a champion of "conservative feminism," took all of ten minutes to undermine any inkling of moral authority she might have on the subject during a Twitter argument with actual feminists.
So, first of all, Loesch's claim that "liberal feminists" have an issue with "being pretty" is laughable. The vast majority of feminists I've met don't think there's something wrong with "being pretty:" rather, they simply think that women shouldn't be defined by their looks. It's a critique of the all-too-obvious fact that society often overemphasizes the standards for attractiveness in women, and often underemphasizes other abilities.
Got that? While bragging about how much more enlightened "conservative feminsts" are compared to "liberal feminists," Loesch claims that the people arguing with her have IBTs (which, according to some societal standards, is less cool than GBTs?). So even as she is arguing that liberal feminists place restrictions on women based on their looks, Loesch attacks the women trying to have a discussion with her based on their looks! Or at least, what she imagines about their looks. Could she be more ridiculous?
Loesch is still being a hypocritical sexist jerk. She needs to be in a straitjacked and/or muzzled.
Here's Dana's 1st official piece as Editor-in-chief at BigJournalism:
Loesch: Mike Allen owes the NRSC an apology.
Allen tried to create an issue from a non-issue by crafting a piece attacking Raese’s latest television ad which features some men in a diner finding solidarity in how much they dislike Manchin. With the headline "GOP ad casting call: ‘hicky’ W.Va. look," Allen characterizes the ad as such:
But not just any actors: "We are going for a ‘Hicky’ Blue Collar look," read the casting call for the ad, being aired by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. "These characters are from West Virginia so think coal miner/trucker looks."
The casting material was provided to POLITICO by Democrats.
From TPMtv's youtube account: GOP Ad-Men Sought 'Hicky' Actors For West Virginia Senate Race Spot
As someone who hails from the Ozark region, I simply cannot take seriously the defense of the limousine liberal faction, people who consistently refer to middle or rural America as hicks, rednecks – or "uninformed." Allen’s own bias set Manchin up to project his own stereotypes upon voters and gives us another case of the media providing the assist in a play to exploit a particular group of people for votes.
Wow, talk about being a narrow-minded idiot. She surely is a danger to America's political discourse.
DanaBusted.com: Adam Shriver pwns Dana Loesch, STL Teabagger Hate Cabal Asskisses Roy Blunt
Adam Shriver, a blogger at the STL Activist Hub, attends the 9/12 Teabagger Rally and questions one of the members of the STL Teabagger Hate Cabal (Dana Loesch) harasses him as a "stalker" and a "defamer." She has also referred me as "a person who sits in Mama's basement defaming my character."
Next clip is where Adam Shriver owns Dana Loesch at the 9/12 Teahadist rally in St. Louis:
Loesch is falsely claiming that Shriver is a "stalker" and a "defamer." Guess what, Dana the Diva!? It is YOU that is the stalker and a defamer.
From the 09.30.2010 edition of AC360:
Roland Martin appears on AC360 with host Anderson Cooper and Tea Party supporter Dana Loesch to discuss Sarah Palin's claims of the mainstream media not fact checking Alan Grayson's "twisted campaign ad."
Matt Taibbi smacks Loesch down on the 08.30.2010 edition of AC360:
St. Louis Activist Hub: Media coached on how to cover the Teahadist Rallies, by Teahadists
But more to the point, I'd be willing to bet money that there were very few "media panels" that invited members of the peace movement to come coach journalists in how they are supposed to cover the movement. Yet, according to the tweets of Loesch, this is exactly what we have in the case of the tea party. As with most issues, a cursory glance at the facts completely undermines the ridiculous claims of a "liberal media." And note that even while being invited to come tell journalists how they should cover the tea party movement, Dana Loesch is still whining about how unfairly they are treated.
So why does the Right still whine about a "liberal media" and why do journalists continually bend over backwards to pander to the Right? The reason for the whining is obvious: the squeaky wheel gets the grease. By continuously complaining, no matter how favorable the coverage, the Right has successfully gamed the system such that their ideology is consistently expressed better in the mainstream media than that of the Left. As for the media, it's true of most of them that they're "socially liberal," meaning that they're not bigots against the LGBT community, that they're not religious fanatics, and that they probably don't think that science and/or higher education are evil liberal conspiracies. But because most of the media outlets are ultimately owned by wealthy Republicans, and because many of the journalists overcompensate in trying to make up for their social liberalism, we have a system where the media goes out of their way to provide positive coverage to the Right but not to the Left. Fringe views from the Right are accepted into the mainstream discourse: views to the Left of center are regularly excluded from discourse.
There is no such thing as the "Liberal Media." It's just a Right-Wing diversion trick to give Fixed Noise more ratings, and for the corporatist media to pander to their interests. One notable incident was when Donahue got cancelled because of his anti-war issues.
Post-Dispatch's Kevin Horrigan: Tea (cha-ching) Party Talk radio
Laura Schlessinger, the famous talk radio noodge, announced last week that she's leaving the business at the end of year. She'd come under fire for saying some African-Americans were too sensitive about the use of the infamous "N" word. In pointing out that some black comedians use the word all the time, she used it 11 times.
Much of talk radio has become an echo chamber. Liberals have their shows, but talk radio audiences tend to skew old and male, the sweet spot for conservatives. Eight of 10 top-rated shows feature conservative hosts and conservative callers agreeing that liberals are stupid and/or evil. It's hard to offend people who agree with you.
In July, there were 364 AM stations featuring religious programming. Some of them have added conservative political talk to their mix. Consider KJSL-AM 630 in St. Louis. AM 630 was the longtime home of KXOK, a pioneering Top 40 station. It has been operated as a religious station for most of the last 20 years. It now has become "TruthTalk 630."
The syndicated star attraction is Bob Dutko, touted as "the most listened-to Christian Talk Radio Host in all of Michigan." In June, TruthTalk 630 added a local host, Gina Loudon, in afternoon drive.
Dr. Gina - she has a Ph.D. in human behavior from an online university in California - calls herself a "politicologist." You can listen to Dr. Gina's show without being annoyed by a lot of commercials, but maybe the audience will grow.
Gina Loudon was not the first local Tea Partier to leverage her credentials into a radio gig. That honor belongs to Dana Loesch, once the author of the "Mamalogues" column in the Post-Dispatch, who went onto far bigger things, including an afternoon talk show on KFTK-FM.
And down in Washington, Mo., on "The Mouth, " KWMO-AM 1350, Tea Party favorite Brian Nieves, the state senator-elect, has his own morning-drive program. The studio he works in has a "Don't Tread on Me" flag on the wall. On occasion, guests bring in assault rifles (his term) for Nieves to fondle.
Some of the STL Teabaggers have regular hosting and/or guesting gigs: Michelle Moore (regular guest of The Dana Show and Moore From The Right web show), Brian Nieves (The Patriot Enclave on KWMO), Andre Harper (The Dana Show), etc...
Loesch and Loudon takes swipes and splits up
I wrote earlier about how there appears to be a rift between St. Louis tea party leaders Dana Loesch and Gina Loudon. Thanks to a helpful tip from a friend, I now have strong evidence to back up that original comment.
But if you watch the video of KTVI/KPLR's coverage of the 9/12 event, you see very clearly that they did interview Gina Loudon for the segment (towards the end):
From 09.12.2010's edition of News 11 on KPLR, St. Louis.
In other words, Loesch is angry that KTVI interviewed Gina Loudon instead of "an actual STLTP organizer."
If Gina Loudon is not an "actual STLTP organizer," apparently no one has told her yet, because she is still traveling around to events promoting herself as a leader of the St. Louis tea party.
Dana The Diva being her racist, Teabagger self again by suggesting that "Liberals are racists"
Dana The Diva's back up to her old racist tricks again: this time by claiming that the Dems are Racists Card, and her incessant mentions of "Gladney beaten by 'Union Thugs'":
This tweet was posted by LisaDeP:
Don't shop at union grocery stores. Don't give money to those who exploit workers to put money in union thugs' pockets. -@dloesch
Dana, NOT all Unions are "thugs," but a few bad apples in the unions don't make the rest of them "thugs." This is crap I'd expect from the Fixed Noise's Saturday "Business" Shows, which are nothing more than the I Hate Unions and Liberals Hour. Shopping at Union-friendly stores makes more an American.
From DanaBusted.com: Loesch states that "'Union Thugs' have ruined Labor Day"
There goes Dana Loesch bashing the Unions as usual, this time suggesting that "'Union Thugs' have ruined Labor Day."
Ah, spending the day remembering what labor used to be like before our working class was bossed around by thugs and co-opted by a party. 2:36 PM Sep 6th via Twitter for Android
If that nonsense wasn't enough for STL Teabagger Ms. Loesch, She also falsely accused Adam Shriver of cyberstalking, libel, and Defamation.
@WUSTL Who to report a member of your staff cyberstalking, defaming, libeling ppl? Investigation whether use WashU resources to do so? 10:52 PM Sep 2nd via Seesmic Desktop
Seriously, Dana. The Unions made our country better. I bet your show's producers are in a union, and so are you. Quit bitching about unions for invalid reasons!
Update (5:50PM CDT): Dana Loesch appeared on America's Newsroom on Fixed Noise, with Martha MacCallum.
Loesch: Paladino expressing himself as social conservative, talking about "his views on sex." Dana Loesch, Editor-in-Chief of Andrew Breitbart's BigJournalism.com, defended Paladino's comments in an appearance on Fox News' America's Newsroom, saying that he "was expressing his stance as a social conservative." Loesch added, "He is a Catholic. He's talking about his views on sex from a religious perspective."
