Since Murkowski isn't included in the Alaska voter guide, it seems that the campaign might have tried to find a different approach. This flyer was found by early voters in Homer, inside the voting booths:
Yeah, that would be illegal. Mudflats reports that the "posted write-in candidates came from a clerk who apparently made a bad call and fixed the mistake as soon as they realized the problem." Seems a bit hard to believe since that whole electioneering in the polling place thing is really not a hard call to make, but let's give the clerk the benefit of the doubt and not assume he or she is in Murkowski's pocket. All the same, early voters who experience anything like this should bring it to the attention of poll workers there as well as calling the local Democratic party.
But it's not just Murkowski electioneering that McAdams has to fight against. It's the NRSC that is apparently worried enough about Joe Miller's multiple meltdowns to invest some coin into the race.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee spent $162,000 on an independent expenditure effort in Alaska, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission today....
The committee's financial involvement in the race suggests the party is growing concerned about the prospects of attorney Joe Miller (R) as he faces a three way race against Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams (D) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) who is running as a write-in candidate. (Murkowski lost an Aug. 24 primary to Miller.)
Let's keep 'em worried. Help keep Scott McAdams viable in this race with whatever you can pitch in.
