Eye roll.
An elder statesman of the moderate Blue Dog Coalition is calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to step down from party leadership after a historic election in which she presided over the loss of 60 seats and control of the House.
Utah Rep. Jim Matheson, a co-chairman of the Blue Dogs, told POLITICO on Thursday that Pelosi should not be a candidate for minority leader —a sign that other Blue Dogs are ready to pounce if Pelosi doesn’t voluntarily cede her power.
Heath Shuler is making noise about running for Speaker, which would be rich coming from the dumbest Democrat in the entire caucus.
It was the Pelosi House that made the big gains the last two cycles, and the Pelosi House delivered the last two years only to see the Senate sit on its gridlocked ass.
Now the guys who ran on not listening to Pelosi, and who lost after not listening to Pelosi, now want Pelosi to listen to them. Hilarious.
I don't know if Blue Dogs like Matheson and Shuler have looked at the scoreboard lately. Over half of their corporatist friends lost. If Pelosi had seen the caucus she presides over hit as hard as the caucus Matheson presides over, Dems would have lost 125 seats.
They don't have the right, nor the ability, to dictate shit anymore.
