Elsewhere...
Social media evangelist Sarah Palin made a disparaging remark about Twitter while addressing a partially-filled room of Republican activists in Arkansas.
When she was asked what she believed was the number one threat to America today, several audience members shouted, "Obama!"
Arkansas Republican Party Chairman Doyle Webb, who moderated the Q&A session, responded by adding, "Besides Obama."
Palin then chimed in as many in the crowd laughed.
"See, they said that, I didn't," she said. "Just you watch now, too, because somebody will be here with their little Twittering thing, and it’s going to be on the Internet any minute now."
In related news, last Sunday's episode of "Family Guy" featured a dig at Palin, which predictably sent her to Facebook to rail against Fox Hollywood.
A couple of days later, the actress with Down's Syndrome who starred in the episode issued a response.
I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm."
In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane also had some words for the former Governor.
In your face... book, Palin!
And speaking of books...
As the Texas State Board of Education considers making changes to the state's social studies curriculum and textbooks, a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll found that:
• 51 percent disagree with the statement, "Human beings, as we know them today, developed from earlier species of animals."
• 38 percent agree with the statement, "God created human beings pretty much in their present form about 10,000 years ago."
• 30 percent agree with the statement, "Humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time." Another 30 percent said they "don’t know" whether the statement is true.
Rarely is the question asked: WTF is our children learning?
Jesus Christ on a dinosaur!
