Illinois is in the political news, again. Scott Lee Cohen (D) has gotten on the ballot for Lt. Governor in the November elections. The media is reporting that Cohen has an ex-wife that has alleged domestic violence AND an ex-girlfriend/massage-therapist that has an arrest-record for prostitution. Oy
The position of Lt. Governor is ... like being an understudy on Broadway, or 1st Runner Up in a beauty paegent. In the event that _____ is unable to serve, you get the job. That's how our current Governor, (D) Pat Quinn became Governor of Illinois after Rod Blagojevich was impeached, removed from office, and banned from ever seeking elected office in Illinois. It was almost unanimous. Rod's sister-in-law voted to keep him in office, it's a family thing.
I'm not going to pick up a stone and throw it at Cohen or his ex-live-in-girlfriend Amanda. Historically, great leaders have needed the redemptive power of love that only a fallen woman can provide.

In hindsight, if I weren't so prissy and precious always looking for true love and better people, I think I would have at the very least fared better financially. Who knows what my life would be like today if I had done it for money, instead of doing it for love.
