In case you're glued to your seat in front of C-SPAN, trying to figure out when to get dinner or if you can sneak away to watch some guilty pleasure, non-political tv, the speaker's office says, according to Political Wire: "Senate bill vote after 10 pm. Reconciliation after 11 pm." That's Eastern time (for the purposes of today and trying to keep track of the timing, I've actually changed my clocks).
And dday just can't quit counting. He looks at the vote on the passage of the Rule and says
So Jason Altmire, Marion Berry, Mike McMahon, Collin Peterson, John Tanner, Larry Kissell and Harry Teague voted for the rule. All seven of these members vowed in public statements to vote against the bill. Many of them probably will. But they voted for the rule. By contrast, Harry Mitchell, who said he was Yes on the bill, voted No on the rule.
Just a few members to watch in the final votes. The outcome is now really not in question, but it'll be interesting to see whether Pelosi's continued whipping and labor's continued lobbying, have an effect.
Update: It wouldn't be a real debate if someone's words weren't being taken down. Just wait 'til Anthony Weiner is back on the floor.
