Last night someone yelled baby killer during Bart Stupak's floor statement.
Well about 12 hours later, Randy Neugebauer, from the Lubbock area, finally claimed that the voice was his last night.
Right now - Neugebauer has a Democratic Challenger by the name of Andy Wilson. This is going to be a tough district to compete in but at least we do have someone willing to take on the Neugebauer's of Congress. Neugebauer has also been touted as one of the fathers of the birther bill.
I've added Andy Wilson to the Progressive Electorate/Daily Kos Act Blue Page I just started him off with $20
Here was Randy's statement
Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my constituents fear and do not support. In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership. While I remain heartbroken over the passage of this bill and the tragic consequences it will have for the unborn, I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself.
"I have apologized to Mr. Stupak and also apologize to my colleagues for the manner in which I expressed my disappointment about the bill. The House Chamber is a place of decorum and respect. The timing and tone of my comment last night was inappropriate."
I don't know if Wilson has a chance of getting any more than 30-35%. Right now that's really not important. But what I think is motivation is the idea that we support those willing to take on the Joe Wilson's and Randy Neugebauer's of Congress. If for nothing else than to bring some decorum and class back to Congress.
This isn't about Bart Stupak, you will see we still have his challenge Connie Saltonstall up right above Wilson. This is about us getting rid of these tools who try and control the media cycle after such a monumental event.
Neugebauer is going to get more than his 15 minutes regardless of whether or not we say anything. Let's at least hold his feet to the fire.
