This action diary is to organize individuals concerned by the growing threat of volence against U.S. citizens based on their political beliefs. A rec' list diary titled, "TN Man Rams Car Carrying Child Due to Obama Bumpersticker" details the incident as reported by WKRN in Nashville TN.
According to details of the attack, this intentional assault with an SUV on a man and his daughter is being considered as a "reckless" charge when, under similar circumstances against a state patrol, this action would be considered, "assault".
This diary is to allow concerned individuals quick access to the Nashville District Attorney to request a charge of Felony Aggravated Assault be brought against the perpetrator of this crime.
According to the diary referenced above, and the news story carried on WKRN Nashville, Mr. Harry Weisiger of Nashville, TN repeatedly rammed a vehicle containing a man and his 10-year old daughter. According to the reported incident, the perpetrator indicated his actions were in response to an Obama sticker on rear bumper of the victim's car.
In addition, after the victim's car was stopped, WKRN reports that the perpetrator then attempted to crush the vehicle and its passengers underneath his SUV. While this action is clearly an attempt to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, the perpetrator has only yet been charged with reckless endangerment.
Currently (at 1603 EST) there are only 3 google news articles that have picked up this story, all internet blogs.
This story needs to be brought to the forefront of the national discussion of political violence in our country. This extremist needs to be made an example of for endangering the life of a child.
This District Attorney needs to assemble charges against this perpetrator as though he performed this action against a state patrol vehicle.
This perpetrator needs to be charged aggravated assault
from the Tennessee State Code:
Assault and Aggravated Assault Defined
39-13-101. Assault. 39-13-102. Aggravated Assault.
Tennessee law provides that a person who commits assault must have done one of the following:

- Intentionally or knowingly caused another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury; or
- Intentionally or knowingly caused physical contact with another and a reasonable person would regard the contact as extremely offensive or provocative.
Aggravated assault requires the use of a deadly weapon or serious bodily injury to have occurred. Tennessee law provides that a person commits aggravated assault who intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly commits an assault as defined above and:
- Causes serious bodily injury to another; or

I do not recommend calling the DA's office as many calls may interfere with a necessary civil function.
Sample letter:
Mr. Torry Johnson III
District Attorney, Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County
Dear Mr Johnson,
I am writing you today to ask that your office pursue full charges of aggravated assault against Mr. Harry Weisiger for his horrific actions of March 25th. Mr. Harry Weisiger intentionally and willfully rammed his sports utility vehicle into a stopped vehicle with passengers inside. One of these passengers was a 10-year old girl. This action was obviously performed with the intent to cause bodily injury and was performed with a very deadly weapon.
I understand that you have three daughters of your own, what would you do if this perpetrator acted in this way against your own children? What would your office do if this act was done against a state patrolman inside his patrol car?
For the continued safety of our citizenry in this time of political conflict, I am requesting that your office file full charges of aggravated assault against Mr. Harry Weisiger for his actions.
Sincerely,
