Ouch. Not good for Blanche.
Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln's campaign said Thursday she's raised more than $1 million over the past three months for her re-election bid, a day after her chief rival for the Democratic nomination announced bringing in twice that amount in one month.
Wow! In three months, Lincoln raised half of what Halter raised in one month. And you can bet that when the full numbers come in, Lincoln's average donation will still be around $1,000 to $1,500 per donor. Halter's $2 million should come in at an at about $30-40 per donor.
In other words, real people are giving to Bill, the top execs at Wal-Mart and the Chamber of Commerce are giving to Blanche.
Furthermore, while Lincoln still has $4 million in the bank, that's down from $5 million at the end of last quarter -- meaning she raised $1 million, burned through $2 million, and is still quickly losing ground to Halter.
But that $4 million will allow her saturation TV for the final six weeks of this campaign, so we can't let up. We're going to have to remain engaged to defeat her and corporate backers.
If you haven't given to the campaign, please do so. If you're in Arkansas, please volunteer. There's no time to procrastinate. The election is fast approaching. There is real urgency now.
