Email me at garemkoreport at yahoo dot com to join us. If you are a Texas blogger, it will hurt your soul not to.
Come and Take it is a collaborative blog that monitors the actions, statements and positions of Texas right wingers at the local, state and national level. I update the Daily Kos community on the status of this effort a couple of times every week. These updates have not yet been promoted, though getting the word out is vital to our success.
I am happy to say that the week-old blog is expanding, though we are still too small. We now have
20 bloggers from across the state who post on the site. Twice as many have received personal invitations in their email boxes but have yet to activate their memberships.
Please encourage them to do so by showing your support for this effort. Clicking Recommend would help your liberal friends in Texas to organize their indigenous netroots.
I am also happy to say that one blogger who has joined us and is actively participating is Amanda Marcotte of Pandagon. She was a Koufax Award finalist for best political writing. Here is a list of member blogs:
Brains and Eggs
Corked Bats
Grant Davis
Great Smoky
Houston Democrats
James Benjamin
Kirk McPike
Mouse Words
Politics Plus Stuff
Roman Candles
Supreme Irony
Winding Road
As with any group effort, we run on participation. The more membership we have, the more monitoring we can do. So the Daily Kos community can play a vital role by promoting this diary, which will help us to get the word out about a very exciting project.
Every Texas blogger we reach through Daily Kos is another set of eyes and ears.
The more eyes and ears that we have all over Texas, the harder it will be for John Cornyn to hide when he attacks judges. The harder it will be for Republicans to run from their corrupt practices in the Dallas Police Department, which contributed to Dallas' nation-leading crime rate. The harder it will be for the bigots who want to take children out of foster homes because they are being raised by homosexuals to be politically viable. The harder it will be for Congressman Sam Johnson to suggest that we might consider nuking Syria and get away unscathed.
Texas bloggers are ready to fight. Help us organize and find each other so that we may fight together.
Come and Take it!
Note: this new blog is growing and it has been described here, here and here. Of course, if you have suggestions, please add them in the comments.
Thanks to one of the comments for the title. Maybe that will help.
