Kudos to Public Policy Polling, one of our two new polling partners, for hitting the nail on the head in yesterday's senatorial and gubernatorial primaries in Florida.
In the final days of the campaign, there were three public polls released, and only PPP called both of the races right:
Actual results:
Governor (R): Scott 46, McCollum 43
Senate (D): Meek 57, Greene 31
PPP's final poll:
Governor (R): Scott 47, McCollum 40
Senate (D): Meek 51, Greene 27
Mason-Dixon's final poll:
Governor (R): McCollum 45, Scott 36
Senate (D): Meek 42, Greene 30
Quinnipiac's final poll:
Governor (R): McCollum 39, Scott 35
Senate (D): Meek 39, Greene 29
Of the three pollsters, only PPP saw Scott's victory, and while each of them put Meek ahead, only PPP nailed the actual margin. It's good to be back in the polling game -- and it's great to be in it with a pollster like PPP.
