Just recently I got this from the Brown campaign:
No doubt that the actual figure that she has poured in has increased. For all of that money and ENDLESS tv ads its a dead heat.
Jerry Brown had been flying under the radar until Labour day when he hit the ground running with this:
and then this radio ad:
Brown and Whitman on the Issues
Education
Both candidates have proposals outlining their economic policy. Whitman's proposals include:
In order to direct more money to the classroom, collapse the states grants if 50 categories into "simplified grants" for "special education". Send money directly to school districts in the form of a uniform block grant to be used by the local administrators as they see fit. Special bonuses to high-achieving teachers. Eliminate the cap on charter schools. Institute a system that grades public schools A-F and posts these grades online Invest $1 billion in the University of California and California State University systems. Jerry Brown's education plan includes the following proposals: The introduction of online learning and the use of new technologies "should be explored to the fullest" Closely align transfer courses between CSU and UC systems so students don't have to take redundant courses. Improve the state's testing program by reducing the scope and duration of tests declaring results faster supplement tests with "assessments" throughout the school year Change school funding formulas: Replace the current process which has 62 categories for funding, with a pupil-weighted formula based on specific needs of the students in the school district. The number of categories should be reduced to less than 20. Work with teacher training institutions and state agencies to recruit more teachers from the top third of our high school graduates.

Marriage Equality
Jerry Brown refused to defend Prop Hate in Court. He supports the rights of same sex couples to get married. Emeg supports Prop Hate. And she has said she would defent Prop Hate in Court. Quote: "The issue right now is, as I understand is 'Will Proposition 8 have the appropriate support to actually make an appeal to the circuit court of appeals?' And I think the governor, the attorney general today has to defend the constitution and has to enable the judicial process to go along and has to enable an appeal to go through. So if I was governor, I would give that ruling standing to be able to appeal to the circuit court." http://blogs.laweekly.com/...

Now Im not big on relying on polls but here are some poll results of the race so far:
California can't afford another Republican Govenor. In my opnion Meg Whitman would be a worse disaster for California than Arnold is, which is saying a lot. Meg Whitman is business woman who ran a big company and wants to run California the same way. California is NOT a business. It is a state that is in big economic trouble.
California needs to elect Jerry Brown. He has been Governor before and although I wasn't around to see it, by all accounts he did a good job. This state does not need any more Republicans who want to slash and burn social programes and take away people's rights.
Please. Donate to Jerry Brown. Volunteer if you can. We MUST elect Jerry Brown.

This isn't the best written diary. Its probably terrible. I am not very good at this. But I am desperate to ensure that eMeg doesn't win and ruin the State. We NEED Jerry Brown as Governor. And not just because Meg Whitman would he TERRIBLE but because Jerry Brown is a good man and would make an excellent Governor (again!).
Thank you for reading.
