Flanked by enabler Condoleezza Rice and consigliere Karl Rove, George W. Bush finally met with the black roots that he's always dismissed and disrespected at the behest of his Southern-Republican base for five years of his presidency. Ostensibly `invited' to attend the NAACP annual convention in D.C. by the elderly former president Benjamin Hooks during his tour of Elvis Presley's Graceland with the Japanese prime minister, Bush was given mostly silence or spotty applause at his obviously well-coached yet pithy remarks, which touched on black history and experience, but seemed demonstrably short on heart and conviction.

Put simply, Bond is correct: gay rights are a Civil Rights issue. I have zealously-represented gays in various court matters and my fiancee was quite active in the GLBi community at OSU Law School. I was out of the loop on this but last month (and ongoing) there is a huge/rift in the NAACP/Black community because Julian Bond did not attend Coretta Scott King's funeral because that Church is a hater; was pushing for ban on gay marriage.
As I've noted, American Tower's lawyer Richard C. Van Nostrand and I also agree that gays should have the right to marry: First we tell them "you're too promiscuous," then we tell them "yeah but you can't get married." What kind of sh*t is that? Bullshit(read comment 13) is what that is, pure'n'simple..... (More on A2).

ON SUNDAY, MARCH 12TH
TO MEET WITH ALL LOUISIANA NAACP MEMBERS
Mr. Bruce S. Gordon, President and CEO of the NAACP
will be in New Orleans on Sunday, March 12th at 5:00 PM to
meet with all members of the Louisiana State Conference NAACP.
The purpose of Mr. Gordon's visit is to announce the next phase of the
NAACP's Katrina Recovery and Rebuild New Orleans efforts.
He will also be announcing new initiatives to
Protect the Vote in the upcoming municipal and state elections.
The meeting will take place at the
Sixth Baptist Church, 928 Felicity Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Well sports fans I have quite a history with NAACP CEO Bruce Gordon. I've made him a lot of money while he was a Big Cheese (Retail Markets Prez, among other things) at Verizon, actually. And NAACP Defendant Gloria Timmons' false statements back in January '05 to my erstwhile colleagues that Jaffrey Police had filed a lawsuit against NAACP because of me constitute a separate and distinct cause of action from her Defaming me to the media... Why do the NAACP, Columbus Bar Association, Jaffrey, NH Police and corporate communications behemoth American Tower Corporation all hate former Ohio Assistant Attorney General Christopher King?
Why have they all tried to get charges on him and/or lock him up since 2002? Why have they failed to date? Why has King sued each of them and now has a Defamation/First Amendment lawsuit pending against NAACP leaders and Jaffrey Police Department?
Why has the Attorney General, who ignored ethics complaint filed by King, now used tainted evidence to nail him for unauthorized practice of law?
