The war's toll on Michigan
Tue Aug 14, 2007 at 12:00:48 PM PDT
As we Kossacks know, the cost of the Iraq war has gone through the roof - in terms of dollars, American and Iraqi lives lost, and wounded servicemembers, among many other statistics. Furthermore, with the money that has gone to fight this catastrophic war, millions of children could have been insured, or thousands of schools could have been built.
The National Priorities Project has released a two-page PDF document detailing the cost of the war to the state of Michigan as a whole as well as to each Congressional District.

Long after the first shots of this situation occured. Long after the first clear holes were seen by most in Bush's homeland security. Long after Bush noted the standards for "Great British Companies", the fate of DPW was pretty clear.
It was publically dead. But, a few House Members decided to fight the DPW fight.
Those members are named under the fold. Apologies if it's dry.
SHAMELESS: GOP Rep Calls For Const. Amendment On Immigration
Thu Dec 08, 2005 at 09:58:46 AM PDT
For those of Latino descent who voted for Bush because the GOP "shares your values", how about this nice little nugget.
Yesterday, a Republican congresswoman and staunch Bush ally proposed a constitutional amendment that would readjust the Census so that both illegal and legal immigrants would not be counted for Congressional representation.
The whole sordid tale after the jump....
