Look, I don't know what effort anyone could make in complaining that would make Viacom do anything about ANYTHING... but surely you must have some way to have a word with SOMEONE.
Seriously... I know that crappy show that sometimes comes on before you features that obnoxious Mencia guy that things racist humour is okay again, and for some weird reason it's seen as okay...
...but tonight.. the racist stereotyping crap on Barrack Obama's afro-wigged drugged out partying youth was just, quite simply disgusting...
it's not suddenly funny just because the guy that performs it makes some lame comments about how he's a minority too so it's okay he says it (we're all a little bit racist right?)
A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush...gotta love Comedy Central. :)
UPDATE: If the video doesn't show up, click here to watch it on the Comedy Central site.
Enjoy.
President Bush offers his support for an Iraq War veteran on last night's show
It seems that President Bush has a lot of extra time on his hands (I blogged about this lack of things on his 'to do' list last week with his papal activities). So it came as no real surprise when he showed up on NBC's 'Deal or No Deal' game show program last night. Here's the entire clip:
In preparation for Senator Barack Obama's third appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Monday, April 21, here are his two other appearances, courtesy of TheDailyShow.com.
Last night on comedy central was like an all-star lineup of Democratic candidates in Philadelphia. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama appeared on The Colbert Report seeking the infamous "Colbert Bump". After all, he is a King-Maker in his own mind.
Hillary stops by to help solve some technical difficulty and Obama makes a surprise appearance to put "Distractions" ON NOTICE. John Edwards reads the nights "Word".
Also, both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert mocked the disgraceful ABC debate that didn't reach one substantive issue until 53 minutes in. Check out the footage of these below:
PS: Some of these videos have already been published as Youtube clips in a previous diary which I did not see and can be found at:
Colbert is hilarious. Did you guys catch the joint Obama and McCain ad on the show making fun of Clinton's 3am ad? It was brilliant. I'm trying to get a link to the video as soon as comedy central uploads it. It's funny that some of the defenders of Clinton original argued that the emergency she was referring to in her red phone ad may be economic not national security. Well, the second ad renders that argument meaningless since it clearly says that "it's 3 am, the phone is ringing and this time the problem is economic"
Hillary Clinton to appear on Monday's Daily Show with Jon Stewart. From the Daily Show web site:
Hillary Clinton -- the first viable presidential candidate with a working uterus -- will be a guest on the Daily Show this upcoming Monday night -- the eve of the March 4th primaries in Texas, Ohio and several other less sexy states -- to presumably talk about politics, patriotism and pant suits.

MoveOn has a new petition to the big TV studios, asking them to be fair to striking writers, so we can bring back the Daily Show! Sign it here--then send to your friends who watch the Daily Show!
The petition to the studios says:
"I want 'The Daily Show'--and all my favorite shows--back on the air. Be fair to the writers, and end this strike."
MoveOn explains:
"The Daily Show," "The Colbert Report," and other TV shows have been airing re-runs for weeks because of the writers' strike—and we want our favorite shows back on the air.
The major networks will make over $120 million in advertising revenue this year by showing TV programs on the web.1 But studio executives have offered the writers a one-time payment of just $250—that's right, $250—for unlimited use of their content online. This unbelievable greed is keeping Jon Stewart and his team off the air.

ABC NEWS: With its snack-food sponsorship, Democratic and Republican affiliations, and Sen. Larry Craig as a possible running mate, Stephen Colbert's run for the presidency is hardly serious business. But the joke could be on Colbert if federal election officials decide his candidacy is for real.
If his campaign plays out the way he's indicated that it will, Comedy Central and Colbert's sponsor, Doritos, could be violating federal laws that bar corporations from backing political campaigns, election law experts say.
"How serious can you get about running as a joke?" said Massie Ritsch, communications director for the Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan group that tracks campaign finances? "The Federal Election Commission doesn't have a great sense of humor."
Chris Matthews was the guest on The Daily Show tonight and Jon Stewart gave him the what-for. Not about what you might be thinking, but about something just as important.
I was browsing in Al Franken's book, Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot. He boastfully includes this, from the year-end 1992 Rolling Stone:
Comedy Central aired its own live coverage of both [1992] conventions alongside the sober networks, with comedian Al Franken anchoring. . . . But Comedy Central could get serious, too. Franken sensed -- and said -- that the ugly tone of Pat Buchanan's speech was a mistake for the Republicans, that it would backfire. It wasn't until days or even weeks later that the traditional pundits called the speech the beginning of the end for the Bush campaign. It was disorienting to watch a comedy broadcast that almost in incidentally told more truth and offered more insight than most networks and newspapers and at the same time was so much more comfortable to watch.

An exclusive story from "Broadcasting & Cable" magazine says NBC wants Jon Stewart - and wants him bad.
NBC Universal President/Chief Executive Jeff Zucker and NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios Co-Chair Marc Graboff recently wined and dined the satirical news anchor and his agent, James Dixon.
I just watched what I think is the premier episode of Lil' Bush, Comedy Central's new show. It was incredibly biting satire, with prepubescent versions of the current white house criminals (Lil' Bush, Lil' Laura, Lil' Cheney, you get the idea). I mean, any television show that features Iggy Pop providing the voice of Donald Rumsfeld is worth a check. According to Wikipedia, Lil' George episodes were originally distributed via cellphone. Other highlights:
Lil' Dick (Cheney) is seduced by Babs Bush (ala The Graduate, natchg), because, as Babs says, George HW just hasn't visited the First Lady parts often enough lately. Lil' Dick also has a penchant for capturing birds, beheading them and sucking all the blood from their bodies. Brilliant!
More below....
From all the previews, I just kept getting the growing feeling of anger.
Hey, Comedy Central, you're years late! If you had the balls of your boy Colbert, you'd have kept That's My Bush. Oh, yeah, 9/11 changed everything.
And now that Junior's fallen below 30%, it's safe to go back in the mocking the president waters?
Well, guess what? Iraq changed everything. Abu Ghraib changed everything. Gitmo changed everything. Gonzo changed everything, ever so quaintly.
These people aren't funny anymore.
There was a mild redeeming value in the show's vicious, unstinting contempt for all things Bush, the demographers' confidence that you can sell ad time by calling the president a mental defective and Iraq a "shithole," but all in all, this show is years too late.
Did you watch? Was it as bad as I thought?
It's on at 10:00 on Comedy Central
We need some good comic relief from this Dolt runnning the country. What better of a way to do this with a bunch of Bush Administration and Lil Bush bashing.....

The little man is on the move. Watch as George W. Bush begins and stays his course.
Meet Condie, Laura, Rummy, and Cheney. All can, did, and will help this "charmer" accomplish his mission.
Brownie makes an appearance; however, communication with him or her is merely condescending. Actually, every conversation little George W. engages in is pompous. Even when he speaks with his President, Dad, he scoffs and tells him . . . Well, you will see.
With a big tip of the hat to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Everyone is invited to post their favorite passages from Dick Cheney's best-selling book of poetry, Glass Half Full. Add your favorite stanza(s) in the comments section.
My choice is from "Vicissitudes"
Dogged constancy
Unbending against the winds of reality
Unshakeable, unwavering
Courageous
Intellect is the cur dog of rationality
Be damned abstract distraction of my quest
