Cliff May, President of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies stated on AC360 (CNN) last night that Barack Obama
" understands the situation in Iraq fairly well, certainly better than the Daily Kos does and some of those on the left who would like to see America defeated in Iraq".
When challenged by Ed Schultz (radio host of the Ed Schultz Show is Where America Comes to Talk - http://wegoted.net/ ), Mr. May avoided explaining his comments. Mr. May was appointed by Condoleezza Rice to a so-called ‘bipartisan Advisory Committee on Democracy Promotion.
This is typical of the McCain/Bush campaign, to have their pendants continue to spew divisiveness and attack honorable Americans who bravely served in Iraq, during the Viet Nam war (as I did) and other great wars fought by honorable men and women.
There is so much talk going on all over the "tubes" lately about what Wes Clark said and meant.
To get a little perspective about how Wes Clark feels about Obama and what he has been saying about McCain, try reading his own words from his personal blog at WesPAC.
After reading his words and understanding where he is coming from, then listen to what he has to say. Check out all of the video and audio from the last few days by going here:
I listen to the Ed Schultz Show in the noon-3 timeslot on AM1090 in Seattle. He announced today that the Jones Radio Network has been bought out by Triton Radio Networks.
I've just about had it up to here with Chris Matthews's arrogant dismissals of Ed Schultz. Tonight Ed (when he was able to get a word in) stated this: "George Bush is an idiot".
Matthews took offense. He finished the segment by pretending to be above it all. Give me a break, Mr. I Love to Rant.
Was just listening to Air America here in NYC and Ed Schultz had a Congressman from Oregon on. He was basically relaying a story from the House floor in which Barack Obama had just visited about an hour or so ago and was greeted very enthusiastically by everyone, including some Republicans. He went on to say that while he wasn't there to court support from the superdelegates who were there, they are going to endorse him. The Congressman went on to say it was his belief that the nomination will be decided by the end of this month.
A couple of days ago, Ed Schultz called John McCain a warmonger - which is what a lot of people believe a factual statement. Since then Ed has been asked to apologize multiple times. Only yesterday he was asked on both MSNBC and CNN. Before I go any further, let me provide some context.
Oh man. I HATE it when I'm having problems with my Sirius radio. Hate. It. My ONLY backup on regular radio is local station WWWT, which, between 10am-noon EST, carries the Stephanie Miller show (LOVE it). The problem is, I'll get somewhere at about 11:30ish and turn the car off and go inside to wherever it is I'm going, and then I'll come back out sometime after noon only to find...
BILL-O. His horrible Radio-factor show is on immediately following Stephanie Miller. If I'm physically IN the car when this change takes place, I'll switch over to local news radio. But today, I got back in the car at about 12:10pm and there it was - the Bill-O show. And what he was saying was so hilarious yet, at the same time, so ridiculous, I couldn't switch off.
Extremely liberal talk show host Randi Rhodes, one of the mouthpieces of the Obama radio network, has been suspended according to Air America:
NEW YORK — Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Sen. Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station.
I'm glad I met Obama twice in person shortly after he was elected to the Senate because it makes it easier to understand what he is saying, how he thinks, how he reacts. He is always rather slow and deliberate. If I hadn't met him in person I might have misunderstood how he pauses and reflects before answering.....
Last night I caught Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Ed Schultz on Larry King. I think it's great that these cable networks are finally beginning to even out the balance of viewpoints on their programming. I also think it's great that progressives are getting better and better at framing the issues to 'win' in these little debates. But.....
CNN's latest TV promo implores their viewers to "declare their independence." The spot claims the network has "no spin, no agenda, no affiliation" and urges viewers to "get the facts." Hmmmmm. Nice try CNN.
Edwards made the comment that there were homeless vets that were sleeping on grates and under bridges. Bill O'Reilly poo-pooed this on his show with Big Eddie Schultz. He said that if Ed could find one that he should notify Orally immediately. Well there is quite a story and follow up.
I may be wrong, but it appears that XM has dropped the Young Turks from its Air America morning lineup. I turned on my XM radio this morning and got the Bill Press show instead of TYT. The Young Turks are still on AAR's stream, but I can't really tell what the hell's going on.
I know setting up big Eddie in this group is an easy target, and I can anticipate many of the responses.
For some reason, Schultz has been putting Republicans on his radio show--recently it was Duncan Hunter and today Ted Olson (as a representative for Rudy).
I can imagine scenarios where putting right wingers on Air America or other progressive talk radio might serve a useful purpose, but what I heard today was just stupid.
