This is my first diary, so, please bear with me and constructive criticism, please.
I joined the Daily Kos this year and at I'm since then, I'm learning about politics and issues that affects me and our country. Since the primaries, Obama supporters have been called, "The Kool-Aid drinker". Now, since the infamous FISA bill, fellow Kossacks being calling one another, "kool-aid drinkers", and now I wonder if people know where that insult came from?

Take over our rainforest
By Daniel Howden, The Independent
Guyana, the former British colony, sandwiched between Venezuela and Brazil, is home to fewer than a million people but it is also home to an intact rainforest larger than England. In a dramatic offer, the government of Guyana has said it is willing to place its entire standing forest under the control of a British-led, international body in return for a bilateral deal with the UK that would secure development aid and the technical assistance needed to make the change to a green economy.
The deal would represent potentially the largest carbon offset ever undertaken, securing the vast carbon sinks of Guyana's pristine forest in return for assisting the economic growth of South America's poorest economy.
Speaking in his office in the capital, Georgetown, on the Caribbean coast, Guyana's President, Bharrat Jagdeo, said the offer was a chance for Britain to make a "moral offset" and underline its leadership on the most important single issue facing the world – climate change.
CA Lt. Gov: Candidate Jackie Speier...a Video

I don't comment much on my blogs about California Politics as I think it's about as screwed up as it can get. I barely have time to keep up with the Federal issues and races much less the intercine warfare what seems routine in California.
On of the interesting aspects of California Elections is that you can have a Governor of one party, like Gov. Muscles, and a Lt. Governor of another like Cruz Bustamonte, a Democrat.
Consequently the race for Lt. Governor is no small chickenfeed race yet it gets small coverage and is usually won by the person with be greatest name recognition. I found a video for one candidate, State Senator Jackie Speier , that speaks to a character building horrific experience in her life. I encourage all California Kossacks to watch it. It may get you to go through her website more throughly and help you make a choice. It's done that for me.
The Video is on her site and at Political Interviews. I hope to get a phone interview this week.
