RI-02: Make George Bush Choke on Lil' Rhody - Support Jennifer Lawless

Jennifer Lawless came to New York tonight, actually she came to my house, to raise money to help us get rid of another Democrat who enables George Bush rather than fight against him. The incumbent, Jim Langevin, (you may remember him because he was the DSCC's choice to be Rhode Island's version of Bob Casey. One Bob Casey in a blue state is enough) has voted with George Bush and the Republicans 60% of the time. I don't know why he bothers to call himself a Democrat.

I think it goes without saying that Lieberman has now learned the hard way that siding with Republicans instead of everyday Americans is not what people are looking for right now. We need real leaders who are willing to stand up to everything that is going wrong in Washington and look out for the people who need it the most--working families. As a Connecticut student, I am extremely proud to support Ned Lamont as the official Democratic nominee for Senate.
It is now up to all of us to realize that this election doesn't stop here. We need to use all of the momentum we have built up in CT to elect progressive Democrats across the country. This means ousting Republicans, but it also means getting rid of Democrats like Lieberman who have lost touch both of the needs of their constituents and with what it means to be a Democrat. It's not enough to take back the Congress--we must do so while also creating a stronger Democratic Party.
