Joe Scarborough takes shot at Keith Olbermann on Morning Joe.
I just heard Tim Russert giving a very intelligent analysis of how tonight's events will change the conversations the Clinton camp will be having with the superD's starting tomorrow.
His main point was that since there no longer appears to be a realistic path to the nomination, there will be stark suspicion that the only reason she is staying in is to try to destroy Obama.
And Keith is talking about how the discussion of the gas tax was good for O b/c it took the focus off Rev Wright, and a few minutes ago I heard wild cheers as a re-energized Obama told the American people he trusts them to be smart, and just now Tom Brokaw told an anecdote suggesting maybe people are living up to that trust. And I read that even Joe Scabborough says it seems to be over for Hillary. And OH! MY! GOD! now even Pat Buchanan is talking like she has no case for staying in the race.
I am very afraid.
In my last diary, I said goodbye to MSNBC because I had developed toxic levels of bile over their relentless Reverend Wright coverage, and because, if I had to watch Joe Scarborough's silly-putty face mouth the words "close the deal" one more time, I would vomit up an organ that I most likely need.
Let me introduce myself. I'm a white guy. Middle class, but I speak French, windsurf and eat arugula. I'm also, lately, an MSNBC addict. For the past 20 months, I've been sitting faithfully in my pew, listening to the likes of Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Pat Buchanan, and Kieth Olbermann as they've sermonized on every angle of this political race. They brought my wife and I closer together over political debates, and it was with MSNBC that I christened my new widescreen televesion. For 20 months I've sat here, finding issue with some of their comments, but not enough to speak out...
There is a pattern of thought and commentary that goes like this:
"I like Barack Obama, and think he's a great guy and would make a great president. Unfortunately, there are too many racists in this country to elect Barack Obama."
(or, TV translation): "Barack Obama can't win working class whites."
There is a name for this: Vouching for the Other Guy's Bad Faith. Vouching for the other guy's racism.
It's true, folks. I just had to see how he would react now that Obama has answered the question Joe has been asking 24/7 for the past two months. What to my wondering ears should appear, but Joe Scarborough actually uttering approving words about Barack Hussein Obama.

This list ncludes some media contact information, because I've been hearing some want to let it be known how they feel about how the media has handled this issue. It is far from complete, of course. More a sample of what is out there.
The biggest offense in the Wright tapes - when played in longer segments than Fox or ABC (which supposedly played it before Fox or CNN) or any other outlet has played them - is no one has captured the sentiment around the words beyond the Noise Level. Wright is talking to a community that feels like America has left them behind - economically, politically, socially, demographically. As Jimmy Boegle put it, "Why do you think it's impossible to love your country, yet still be ashamed of it?" Which a poster on Reddit added "I remember Trent Lott saying something like "It's possible to support troops while opposing the president." Which are variations of exactly what Wright was saying in the 'God Damn America' speech. Using the quote of a Reagan appointee.
I am as mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore.

After watching at least 30 minutes of Obama bashing on MSNBC's Race to the White House show on Thursday night I decided to put my anger to work. The show regularly includes guests Rachel Maddow (the lone voice of reason), John Harwood, and two right wingers, Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough. The two right wing boys tend to outshout the other guests and either David Gregory is unable or unwilling to turn their mics off.
It would have been helpful to the American people if the pundits in punditry land had put W. and Cheney, the two most incompetent, corrupt and morally bankrupted President and Vice President in recent history, under the same microscopic scrutiny when they were running for office and later after two elections.
Go ahead and admit it. Barack Obama is a son of a bitch.
And if you are anything like me you hate him. You hate him because he's elitist. You hate him because he's liberal. Shit, maybe you hate him because he's not Hillary which is a fine reason to hate.
Or possibly you hate him for far "darker" reasons. Perhaps there's this "black" cloud hanging over his head. Maybe his "colorful" way of speaking gets under your skin. Well say no more friend, I have just what you're looking for....
As is typical, Joe Scarborough was beating up on Obama for being aloof (yes, the guy who organized a popular political movement, who moves people with his speeches, who shares are disdain for Washington politics is aloof), for being tired (lord, what a crime after a nasty six week race), for failing to connect with voters in Pennsylvania (except for the 45% he did connect with, up ten points from when he started) and for everything else, and then he comes up on the topic of the debate, saying that he is complaining about the tough questions.
Trouble is, they weren't tough questions, they were dumb questions, irrelevant to most voter's top concerns. 45 minutes of them, not just a smattering here and there. And to demonstrate just how wrong Obama was to turn his nose up on the question, he proved just how dumb the question was.
So the news is that Joe Scarborough walked off msnbc's new program "Race to the White House" after failing to talk down and silence fellow guest Rachel Maddow who I should add is absolutely superior to him in intelligence, wit and manners. According to HuffPost the panel was discussing the effect of Sen. Obama's personal and professional relationships on his campaign when Rachel and Joe disagreed. Joe started to challenge Rachel's argument that relationships only become an issue when a political opponent makes them an issue, but she cut him off, "Let me make my point and then you can dismiss me." She then finished with an example of a McCain campaign co-chair in Florida's bathroom activities. The article continued that after a commercial break, Joe began whining about not wanting to engage in cross-fire type debates (apparently he was outraged by Maddow's bringing up of the McCain co-chair's involvement in "bathroom activities"). He subsequently removed his microphone and exited the program.
In the deliciously gosippy story of Rachel Maddow spanking the Very Serious Person(al) tushy of Joe Scarbough for talking over her...Moran Morning Joe states the following (paraphrased): "People don't know him, (Obama) they know John McCain....snip....It's about defining the candidate, defining your opponent."
Do they Joe? Do they REALLY know him? Let's play "Define The Candidate"

Joe Scarborough of "Morning Joe" was handed his ass by Rachel Maddow on David Gregory's show "Race to the White House". Joe, the guy who has been putting Barack down for his effte bowling skills, couldn't handle an intelligent debate with Rachel and walked off the panel - HA!
Did Joe Scarborough walk out of David Gregory's show "Race to the White House" Thursday night on MSNBC? It seems that way by the video below. Joe was a panelist on the show along with Air America's Rachel Maddow, CNBC's John Harwood and former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford, Jr.
The panel was discussing the effect of Sen.
After a commercial break, Joe prefaced his rebuttal to Rachel's point by saying "I don't engage in Crossfire-type debates and certainly I don't want to talk about what people do in bathrooms." When he finished speaking, and after David Gregory had shut Joe vs. Rachel down, John Harwood came on camera. Then, viewers can hear Joe taking off his microphone. When the panel picture came back, no Joe.
OK...what is going on with Joe Scarborough? Has his time on Morning Joe, where he generally gets to spout off unchallenged, completely atrophied his ability to engage in a debate? He is truly terrified of Rachel Maddow as she once again schools him. Not only does he look like he's about to cry as he complains that he doesn't "do Crossfire", he actually REMOVES his microphone and walks offset.
Uh..Joe? Do you want a pillow?
Video at Huffpo. Does anyone know how to embed their system?
Rachel Maddow clears the air about bitter-gate.
But will they listen? Not JOE SCHMO SCARBOROUGH... As always he has his own stubborn mindset and refuses to make rational something that smacks him right in his pathetic puss! Thank goodness MSNBC has Rachel on its panel to give those who THINK a breath of fresh air!

Not that we didn't know that already, but on today's Morning Joe he dropped a gem of a quote that nearly made my head pop for it's idiocy. I've never liked him, but I didn't realize he was this stupid. Below the fold.
I have just been reminded why I had sworn off Morning Joe for the past couple of weeks. Not sure why I slipped up this morning, but I hereby admit it was stupid.
He's at it again.
