so angry I am in tears (Righteous indignation)
Thu May 15, 2008 at 05:00:18 PM PDT
this first part was put in the midday open thread but I feel SO pissed off that can't see straight still, so as I choking back the tears and bile forgive the deep anger; the fact this has been covered, be better women and men than I and lack of control as I am cursing ever other word.
remember yesterday I brought you the words of our moron-in-chief about giving up golf "for the troops". After listening to Olbermann I am so angry! so pissed off! and so hurt for the over 4000 dead troops and 40K to 60K injured, and 100K to 1.2million dead Iraqis and their families that I am at work SO mad so angry so pained that I am fighting back the tears. THAT the world sees us as him. That we have this UNFEELING, unknowing SON OF A BITCH, as our leader.
There has been a lot of "bad" leaders in the free world, but none of them made a nation a nation of war crimes. Son of a Bitch has made us all look like we don't care about anyone else but ourselves, that we will kill anyone for any reason. THAT IS NOT what we are, we aren't FUCKING the NAZI. YOU fucking son of a bitch as a moron-in-chief you sent 100's of thousand men and woman US and Iraqi's to war for no reason, NONE!!!

We are the Change, We need to be the Angels
Fri May 02, 2008 at 12:06:45 PM PDT
Dear Kos community,
On the Kantor Issue, I completely agree with Sun dog.
If we Do truly Believe in Obama and we Support his message of Change and the "Audacity of Hope" then I believe that, like Obama, it starts from the ground up. I'd rather the bottom up approach include us being our own better angels and exercising good judgement and self restraint.
UPDATED: "God Bless" the Rich: Why Markos is wrong
Fri May 02, 2008 at 05:57:31 AM PDT
First of all:
I am a die-hard Obama supporter, and I intensely dislike the Clintons and the way they are running this campaign.
I am a die-hard fan of Markos Moulitsas.
However, I am afraid that I feel compelled to defend Hillary Clinton against a baseless attack from Kos himself.

Life progresses because of two important entities: the genes and the memes. Genes attempt to enforce the percept: "survival of the fittest", and the memes attempt to prove it wrong! Genes select only the genetically best to nourish, rejecting the rest to perish, while the memes defy that very rule – by picking all the rejected and make them fit! The best (but a lighthearted) example would be, for instance, the fact that most girls desire good-looking rich men. The key entity here is the attribute "good-looking rich"; unfortunately this attribute is a composition of two contradicting base attributes: "good-looking" and "rich". Although rhetorically people can argue both these are relative terms, the fact remains that good-looking is a physical attribute (good-health would be very appropriate, nevertheless) and richness is a monitory attribute – technically the former is the product of gene the later is by a meme.
Obama's Sister Souljah Moment

You know it's true. You hate that it's true, but you love that it worked.
Hey, Markos!
Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 03:10:01 PM PDT
I've got an idea for you:
Instead of getting up on your horse whenever a substantial minority of your audience disagrees with you, and inviting them to hit the fucking door, how about encouraging them to constructive action?

Disagreeing with KOS? I got next.
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 01:12:51 PM PDT
Fox News is not fair and balanced. Let us begin from a point of agreement. We all know what it is, and we most certainly know what it isn't.
Whatever role Fox has in the VRWC (main player), we cannot ignore a basic fact. People watch Fox. More importantly, voters watch Fox. Not just rapid, right-wing, racist, sexist, homophobic, myopic trolls, but, you know, some normal people, too. Barack was talking to them.
All caught up in the metafight
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 12:32:35 PM PDT
Hey, somewhat fellow Kossacks, let's chill a bit. I say "somewhat" because I'm far more bystander here than participant. But that gives me a bit of perspective sometimes.
First let me say that I bow to no one in my utter contempt for Fox News. I fully recognize their place in the downfall of American values. Then let me also say that few people have more of my respect than Markos does, and for the record I am a firm Obama supporter and have been since Edwards left the race.
But everyone needs to take a step back and think.
"I've never put Obama on a pedestal"
Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 11:46:21 AM PDT
Kos your front page post on Obama on FOX was dripping with disappointment and tinges of regret. Yet you can't come forward and honestly see that Barack as a human being will be a much stronger candidate because although the perfect image was great for motivation and fund raising, the actual person is the repository of all integrity, wisdom and knowledge. More importantly, it is at the personal level that the individual can triumph against what is holding him back from his/her dreams.
I wrote a poorly read diary recently that essentially called on Obama to toughen up promptly. I will reprise some of what I wrote then. My concern was mainly that in taking the constant road of conciliation and compromise he is not serving his campaign or himself well because he becomes less clear, more political while undermining his basic appeal of honesty. He thus appears more weak with every passing month.
Provoked into Writing for Free!
Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 04:15:08 PM PDT
I am a working writer and editor. Have been for 30 years. I have not posted on Kos much because 1. I can't afford to write for free, and 2. well, I can't afford to write for free. However, with sufficient provocation I have been known to spout off gratuitously. There we are. It has to do with Kos' home page and why I have to scroll way down yawner. JUMP!
Dissonance at cosy Kos
Fri Apr 25, 2008 at 02:13:32 PM PDT
OK I have been surfing all over the usual places since I got home this afternoon. I started here at Kos and read positive diaries about the inevitability of Obama. here, and here.
And others too. I felt as though we could start going up against McSame.
Felt good...
Then I went to HuffPost and saw "Media jumps Ship from Obama" More stuff about how the major media is back in Hillarys camp.
Next to TPM usually not a good choice and I wasnt disappointed. Some article, thinly veiled, from George McGovern. To be honest I did see some of the same things

Simply Unacceptable
Fri Apr 11, 2008 at 11:42:25 AM PDT
Paul Krugman has written another column where he attacks Obama's supporters. For a man who claims he wants a strong liberal Democratic party in power, why does he continue to demonize those who are working to achieve this end?
OK Kos, MSM No More -- But
Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 08:19:54 PM PDT
Kos calls us out a little while ago for using the right-wing "MSM" frame:
...by calling them "mainstream media", we are saying that we ourselves aren't mainstream, and that's not something I'm willing to concede. This site gets far more readers than most "mainstream media" publications, so why are they mainstream, while we are, by definition, the fringe?
... We, on the other hand, are firmly on the mainstream on just about every major issue facing our country, and our numbers are growing. We aren't outside the mainstream, we are representatives of the mainstream, and the country is embracing what we're selling.
BREAKING! Markos 7th most hated person on the web
Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 06:33:02 PM PDT
Well color me amused.
According to the fine, intellectual popular culture magazine, Radar, our own Markos Moulitsas is the 7th most hated person on the internet. Wow. That's a lot of internet to be hatin' on you, Kos. So what exactly did Kos do to earn the ire of legions of netizens?
