Liveblog: Large Crowd for Barack Obama in Indianapolis
Mon May 05, 2008 at 06:11:13 PM PDT
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to dkos an I've never considered myself the diary type of person. I usually only lurk and I make comments rarely. I decided to put up this diary tonight because I didn't see another one about the rally about to be shown on CSPAN tonight. I know this probably doesn't count as a real diary and I may never post another one but here goes nothing...

How To Liveblog: Morans Need Not Apply
Sat May 03, 2008 at 02:04:54 PM PDT
Howdy, friends. This diary might get zilch traffic because I didn't put anything sexy in the title. Well, don't come crying to me when you want to liveblog the next Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs or John Gibson interview with Ann Coulter.
There's a lot of folks here who have been posting great Liveblogs or have volunteered to continue one, but have gotten concerned about logistics. I am not the uber-veteran here, but have done enough to learn from the experts like donnamarie. If you think you want to Liveblog something in the future -- save this diary somewhere for reference.

Liveblogging Hillary on Countdown: Will Keith Comment On Osama Ad?
Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 04:41:12 PM PDT
Hillary makes an unprecedented appearance on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, at 5pm and 7pm PT on MSNBC.
Let's liveblog it here. Comments, questions, snark, and wisdom welcomed.
Will Keith decry Hillary's use of fear in today's TV ad?
Keith's only Special Comment against a Democratic presidential candidate came against Hillary last month, wherein he decried her Rovian campaign tactics of fear, smear, and division. Video below the fold.
UPDATED: Liveblogging ABC's This Week - Tomorrow on OpenLeft.com
Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 07:14:43 PM PDT
Hey folks - this is Adam Green with MoveOn. I wanted to let you know that the good folks at OpenLeft.com have opened up their front page this Sunday morning from 10am to 11am EST for me to liveblog ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
I wanted to invite you to join me there for active discussion, and to suggest in the comments below any thoughts you have on things to look for. Be they big issues or small nuances...or questions you think should be asked to McCain...I'm all ears.
As many of you probably know, MoveOn launched a petition this week to ABC and other networks in reaction to this week's travesty of a debate on ABC. If you haven't seen it yet, it says:
"Debate moderators abuse the public trust every time they ask trivial questions about gaffes and 'gotchas' that only political insiders care about. Enough with the distractions--ABC and other networks must focus on issues that affect people's daily lives."
There was a ton of energy behind this media critique. (More below.)
Richard Carter (NE-02) Weekly Liveblog
Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 04:25:57 PM PDT
We just came from an all candidate forum, which went really well. I talked about getting our troops out of Iraq, balancing our budget, and fixing our healthcare and educational systems.
There are only 30 days until the primary, we have another debate on Tuesday, and several town halls this week, so I will have many more chances soon to talk to the people of my district about the important issues that are facing us.
This week, the floor is open for questions on any topic, and of course, donations are always appreciated.
Last thing before we get to the liveblog, I wanted to announce how proud I was to earn the endorsement of DailyKos's own Eternal Hope, who writes the excellent Obama Evening News Roundup diary series.
Thanks for coming today, and thank you for your continued support!

Olympic Torch protests in SF today (link to LiveBlog elsewhere).
Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 02:25:19 PM PDT
It looks like the people of San Francisco are preparing for a game of "Capture the Torch". Pro-China protesters have been bussed in; pro-Tibet protesters have been active.
This looks like an event that deserves a LiveBlog.
And so it has one.
Please go there and recommend.
Richard Carter (Candidate in NE-02) Liveblog on Responsible Plan
Sun Apr 06, 2008 at 05:45:35 PM PDT
For those of you who are joining us for the first time, welcome! This is another in our weekly liveblog series. A little about myself: I spent seven years on active duty in the Air Force, flying missions in both Iraq and Afghanistan. While on active duty, I earned my Master's Degree in Economics, and I currently teach Economics at a local community college. I also still serve as a Captain in the Air Force Reserve. I am running for Congress to get our troops out of Iraq, balance the budget, and make sure that every American has access to quality, affordable healthcare.
Last Wednesday, I endorsed Darcy Burner's Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq. We need to get our troops out of Iraq so that we can rebuild our military and focus on Afghanistan. But beyond the military reasons, we also need to rebuild our economy, which we cant do while we are spending 12 billion dollars a month in Iraq. The video from my speech and more details on the military side under the fold.

Let the conversation continue here.
Please remember the traditional liveblogging rules:
- Don't recommend this diary. Recommend the MOTHERSHIP instead.
- No Pictures, or Youtubes, or lolcats or anything else that would slow down the folks on dialup.
Live Blog: Sun to set in the west this evening (UPDATED*3)
Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 09:34:53 AM PDT
Just got this news in, and I know all you fellow Kossacks are going to want to jump right on it and be there to report on it when it happens.
As you may know, the Sun is the star at the center of our solar system.
It is the primary source of heat and light for our planet.
If you look up now, you might even see it. In the event that it's behind a cloud, you may have to wait a bit before it comes out from behind.
44 days to go!! Richard Carter (Candidate in NE-02) Liveblog
Sun Mar 30, 2008 at 02:01:17 PM PDT
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to come by and give everyone an update on our campaign for the last two weeks (we didn't liveblog last Sunday because it was Easter).
The last two weeks have been great for the campaign. With only 44 days until the primary, things are hectic. Our volunteer list has doubled in size, and they are very active volunteers. Yesterday we had a canvass, and we knocked on over 1,000 doors!
I just came from a very successful town hall meeting and a fundraiser. All day I have been talking about issues from Iraq to Healthcare, from Education to the Economy. So, for the live blog, instead of picking one topic in particular, I'll take questions on anything today.
Good to be back, and I look forward to talking to you all again today. As always (and espeically with the quarter ending tomorrow) I would really appreciate any donation that you would like to give. Thanks.

Take Back America LiveBlogging / Kossack Coverage Coordination Thread
Mon Mar 17, 2008 at 07:52:24 AM PDT
I'm onsite at the Take Back America progressive activist conference in D.C., where the keynote just kicked off... Robert Borsage of Campaign for America's Future is likening our current situation to the Great Depression in many ways.

Jesse Jackson is sitting next to me. On my right is my fellow Berkeleyan Susan Strong, founder of The Metaphor Project, who is presenting tomorrow. I"m surrounded by 2000 progressive activists, gathering to organize and take action.
Please join me in reporting on, linking to reports on, contributing questions for and comments on participants, in this, the biggest progressive gathering 'til Netroots Nation.
Richard Carter (Candidate in NE-02) Liveblog on FISA et al
Sun Mar 16, 2008 at 01:32:04 PM PDT
Hello again DailyKos, good to be back.
For this week's liveblog, after the House successfully passed immunity-free FISA legislation, I thought I would take your questions on FISA, civil liberties in general, the appropriate role of the executive branch, etc.
NE-02 Weekend Update
Sun Mar 16, 2008 at 12:59:39 PM PDT
A few notes on what's happening this weekend on the Richard Carter for Congress Campaign. (DONATE!)
Of course, at 3:30 CST we will be doing our 4th weekly liveblog. Today we will be discussing civil liberties and the appropriate roles of the executive branch--i.e, FISA and other related topics. If you have a question for Richard on those topics, come join us for the liveblog!!
Also, yesterday was Omaha's St. Patrick's Day Parade. We had a great turnout (hopefully we can get some pictures up soon). The best part, however, was after the parade, when Richard noted that local blogger, DKos member, and former-Carter-webmaster-turned-Kleeb-staffer Mike Nellis had a flat tire on his truck.
Richard, being the stand-up guy he is, offered to change the tire for him. Local media drove buy and noticed the congressional candidate helping out, and we got some of the best free media of all time. You can see the video here. (Something wrong with the video, there is no sound. Hopefully that gets fixed.)
IL-14 Special Election Liveblog 2
Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 06:27:19 PM PDT
This is a continuation of dmsilev's IL-14 special election liveblog. As he says:
Remember, this is Dennis Hastert's old district, with Democrat Bill Foster running against all-around-jerk Jim Oberweis. Jim Oberweis is best noted as the person who was passed over in favor of Alan Keyes in the 2004 Senate race.
PA-5 House Candidate Rick Vilello - Live Q&A
Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 04:00:21 PM PDT
My name is Rick Vilello and I am running for Congress in the Fifth District in Pennsylvania. I promised everyone in my last diary that I would come back and answer some more questions if you left them. I would like to address a series of questions left by Scubaval because I think they are very important issues and they deserve to be dealt with openly, honestly, and in-depth. She asked about a woman’s right to choose, torture, Guantanamo Bay, mountaintop removal mining, public financing of campaigns, and Iran. Scubaval also asked if I was comfortable running as a progressive in my district. I’d like to take these each in turn.
Mayor Rick Vilello answers Scubaval's questions on Thursday!
Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 03:25:10 PM PDT
For everyone who enjoyed the livebloggy goodness last Thursday with Mayor Rick Vilello, candidate for the Democratic nomination in the Fifth District of Pennsylvania, you are in for a treat. This Thursday, March 6, at 7 PM Eastern Time, we'll be doing it all over again! This time, instead of an introductory diary, Rick will be answering some questions posed by Scubaval at the end of the comments last time around. Follow me below the fold for a topic list.
