This series began with the bottom 14 names, and eliminates the bottom vote-getter(s) and replaces them with new name(s) from just up the list, reaveraging as we go (so each thread's bottom vote-getter[s] may not be the ones cut--who's cut will be determined by the new averages generated from this series's votes only). I'm hoping we'll have five or six candidates left when Obama picks and see if the DKos wisdom of crowds is. It should take about 14 threads to get all of the top candidates in the poll again, out of the 28 or so total threads. Fmr. Gov. Ray Mabus (MS) was eliminated in the previous round, and Gov. Tim Kaine (VA) rotated in to replace him this time. Sen. Jack Reed (RI) made his Shermanesque statement, so Fmr. Vice President Al Gore rotated in to replace him.

I haven't seen this blogged anywhere on this site yet, but another embarrassment has hit John McCain. This time, the McCain surrogate did his utmost to present one of the best arguments presented against McCain-- that there ain't a dime's worth a difference between the current illegitimate White House occupant and the Republican (McCain) who wants to succeed him.
As you'll see in the clip, the speaker has been mentioned as a possible McCain running mate, and not only may he have eliminated himself from the running with the statement, he may have handed Barack Obama further proof that McCain's election would be "Bush's third term."

With all the talk (read: bullshit) in the MSM lately about the tightening race, Obama tacking to the center on Iraq and FISA and John McCain's amazing ability to turn unreal gaffes into media ice cream, I figured I'd highlight two key areas where McCain and Obama differ (and no, I'm not talking age and IQ, where I'd argue the numerical difference between the two is somewhat similar).
