Money Bomb: Burma
Wed May 07, 2008 at 07:53:24 AM PDT
This morning many of us are celebrating a very good night for Obama. On the other side of the world it is a very bad morning.
In Myanmar (Burma) this morning brings news of 60,000 - 80,000 people dead. The cyclone Nargis passed through the region over the weekend, leaving truly unimaginable destruction in its wake. And it is just the beginning, as soon water-borne illnesses such as cholera, typhus and dysentery will likely ravage the survivors.
Follow-up to MoneyBomb/DVD from Tues
Thu May 01, 2008 at 10:51:38 AM PDT
Just wanted to follow up with the results of the diary I did on Tuesday.
Here's the original:
http://www.dailykos.com/...
I didn't try to total up everything everyone contributed, because some may have contributed on the same day for unrelated reasons, and that wasn't my point at all anyway.
You guys were awesome! I dropped $1158, as you can see it for yourself at this link:
http://www.actblue.com/...
(2 donations because I used 2 separate cards)
HEADS UP! Money bomb, aka Rec'in for $$$ [updated]
Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 07:53:02 AM PDT
LAST UPDATE:
Ok, this thing's a beast, and that's all cool, but let's make sure others (like Kleeb) get some love too (if not from you, perhaps another Kossack). So after $1135, maybe we should let this one drop off the Rec List. Others can feel free to rec the tip jar still, but how about no more diary recs... I've more than hogged the list today. I'll do a follow-up in a day or so with the final final, plus info for those interested in the DVD ISO, etc. Thanks!
.............................
Rec this diary so it gets seen! Rec the tip jar for donations for Obama. For each rec on the tip jar comment, I'll donate a dollar to the campaign. I've seen these go up in the hundreds before, so please participate!
Now, this was (partially) to get attention. My last diary went nowhere, so I'm trying again (see link below).
I made a DVD with video from the Obama website. I think it could help sway undecideds, and I'd like some help getting it out there. See below the fold for details...

MONEY BOMB! For our Irish Brother, O'Bama!
Mon Mar 17, 2008 at 04:31:53 AM PDT
Time for an Obama money bomb in honor of St Patrick's day!

Tiny Irish Village Is Latest Place to Claim Obama as Its Own
MONEYGALL, Ireland -- Here they call him O'Bama.
Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, Democratic candidate for president, is the talk of this village because recently unearthed records indicate that he is a son of Moneygall.
Stephen Neill, a local Anglican rector, said church documents he has found, along with census, immigration and other records tracked down by U.S. genealogists, appear to show that Obama's great-great-great-grandfather, Fulmuth Kearney, was reared in Moneygall, then left for America in 1850, when he was 19.
Money Bomb the DNC: Obama AND Clinton supporters
Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 07:45:49 AM PDT
NJ MOM already has a rec'd diary on the situation, so I won't copy her post. But the long and short of it is that major donors to Hillary Clinton are asking for their money back from the party, if the DNC doesn't seat Florida.
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't want donors from EITHER side trying to bully around Howard Dean. In fact, if there's any stories that come out that Obama donors are pulling the same crap, I'll put up a post saying they're wrong too.
Asking for money back - hurting the DNC's efforts in 2008, not just in the Presidential, but in races all up and down the ballot - is the most destructive way to try to influence the situation with the Florida delegates. It's beyond childish - play by my rules or I'm taking my ball and going home.

Time for an Obama money bomb? [Updated]
Mon Mar 10, 2008 at 07:15:16 AM PDT
John McCain is already using Hillary's Obama-bashing in his campaigning. Hillary is (again) floating the possibility of strong-arming Obama's pledged delegates. Senator Clinton is also hoping that she can out fundraise Obama this month, thereby holding off some Superdelegate announcements for Obama. So...
It just might be time to line Senator Obama's coffers some more. But I need help. How does one go about setting up a money bomb?
If you agree, we need to choose a date and an amount (maybe $20.25 for the delegate count?) and possibly on a Friday (payday!)

Lincolns for Obama! Donate $5.01 on Feb12, Abe's Birthday
Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 01:12:24 PM PDT

Here's a way everyone from all walks of life can support Barack Obama is his Presidential campaign. For the low, low price of five dollars and one cent, you can prove to the MSM exactly which candidate has the momentum. Such a deal you'll never see.
$5.01 might not seem like much. It is when you multiply by the power of the netroots. Citizen democracy is returning to America. It comes in the form of millions of small donations from ordinary Americans everywhere.
Lincolns for Obama! Why $5 and one cent? And why February 12th? Join us below the fold for a word from our founder.
Just a second. Before you do that, hit that Reccomend Button -------->
Ready? OK, let's go Barack the vote.
*UPDATED* $5.01 Money Bomb Extravaganza on February 12th for Obama
Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 03:25:47 PM PDT
I'm a relatively new poster, I've been here for awhile reading but posting only on a few occasions. Yet seeing the Netroots support that Barack Obama is gaining from individuals who are giving what they can, when they can, is truly inspirational. My proposal is a hybrid combination of coincidences and not a an actual historical comparison between Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama. Some poster mentioned this in a comment thread about Obama's Money bomb and I can't remember his name, but he deserves credit for the initial idea (Sorry if you read this).

MEDIA ACTION: In the news now, but more to contact!
Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 10:02:51 PM PDT
Congrats to all involved in organizing and executing this impromptu money bomb effort. If current projections stand, we have surpassed the previous record held by the Ron Paul campaign. At this time, in an effort to further underscore Barack Obama's viability as a candidate, we need to get this record-shattering into the news ASAP!! On MSNBC at least, the political morning largely begins with "Morning Joe."
Between now and airtime, we need to keep sending Joe the message that this is newsworthy. Furthermore, we should reach out to every print and television outlet we can find contacts for as today's news cycle begins.
I'll be listing contacts below the fold, and probably need your help....
Let's drop another money bomb on Friday!
Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 08:09:10 PM PDT
I'm confident that Barack Obama's supporters will set a new fundraising record today, raising more than $6 million since the polls closed yesterday. But we can do better. This Friday is payday. It's time for everyone to sit down, tweak their budget, and find that extra $25, $50 or even $100 to send to the Obama campaign this Friday.
Hillary Clinton has asked her supporters for $3 million in three days. If we can answer her with $12 to $14 million in the same period, then perhaps she will begin to see the light.
How Much Did Edwards Raise on Friday?
Sun Jan 20, 2008 at 07:31:59 AM PDT
Does anyone know how we did on our goal of raising 7 million for Edwards on Friday?
I am not a prognosticator! I was wrong about Ron Paul! Part 1
Wed Dec 19, 2007 at 07:01:19 AM PDT
In my first diary I asserted that Ron Paul’s fans are about tapped out money wise and that his "Tea Party Sunday" would be a bust or at best only raise about the same amount as his Guy Fawkes day event. (and have about the same number of donors.) My second diary I claimed Dennis Kucinich would raise over $1 million for the Bill of Rights day.
Boy was I wrong on both counts.
[Edited, hopefully it's a better read now]
