I think he has. The question is how to get it back.
I believe all this hoopla haa about Obama Muslim Smear, Rev Wright and his press conference today is a brilliant poltiical strategy by Obama. Atleast I hope that is the scenario. Let me put the whole picture in context.
I don't know if someone has diary on this but if this is true I think this woman must be exposed. From NY Daily News:
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright couldn't have done more damage to Barack Obama's campaign if he had tried. And you have to wonder if that's just what one friend of Wright wanted.
Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.
A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).
It also turns out that Reynolds - introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club "who organized" the event - is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter
Despite Rev Wright
Despite Sean-Insanity's constant attack
Despite the left's grumbling why he went on fox interview
Despite Bittergate
Despite PA lose
Despite being portrayed as radical who was friend of Ayers (an 8yo radical kid)
Despite being not able to pass shill's comander-in-chief threshold (I wish someone ask her what she meant - hi ABC, Charlie Gibson, Stephenpeolopasosi)
Despite Lou Dobbs daily pompus-phony-independent-wannabe's attack
Despite MSM loves him BullSHT while the truth is to the contrary that they run the nonstory of rev Wright as bad as, if not worse, than Al-Sader
At the end of the day, the boy is kicking everyone's ass and IS the winner. A few months back the question was if he can get the black vote, now he is THE black vote. Translation: Dem CAN"T win without Barack. Not just 2008 - probably EVER! that is the cold hard truth.
I am trying very hard to be neutral on this. Please share your views. I was hoping the Rev Wright controversy would die down and Obama and Hillary would have a nose to nose race to the finish. Then, at the convention, they would kiss (like the pix on the side of my blog homepage) and make-up, both be on the same ticket (either way) and they would bring all the Dems together for a win in November. A real kumbaya moment!
The Republicans cannot win on the issues. McCain is proposing a continuation of the Bushbaby policies that have sent the country into endless war and recession. So the attack ads have begun.
Will the exaltation of Rev. Wright fill one child's belly?
Will the damnation of Rev. Wright get one child healthcare?
Will the exhaltation of Rev. Wright move the USA off of fossil fuels?
Will the damnation of Rev. Wright stop one foreclosure?
Then why in the crap are we babbling like idiots about an irrelevancy at the behest of the Corporate Numbskull Networks?
If we want to 'take sides' on something could we please make it about something important to OUR NATION'S WELFARE?

I know. They aren't going to care. But I felt a little better having gotten my words onto the keyboard. Not the same as pen and paper, but... eh. I will be sending letters to sponsors as well. Will it do any good? Probably not. But I am going to do it anyway. I am tired of having a news media that has no journalistic integrity. Below the fold I will paste my letter so that you can critique it for me. And maybe get your own anger regarding the media out on paper or keyboard and give them a piece of your mind.
Diaries concerning Reverend Wright's sermons and how to interpret them, how much tape before or after the "damaging words" to view and the like continue to appear.
Diaries concerning how much we can use against McCain because of Hagee and Parsely are continuing to appear.
Until the Democratic Party nomination is decided, until one party has conceded, all further discussion of Reverend Wright simply keeps alive a story that does Barack Obama no favors. Obama replied brilliantly. All that can be said to give back some respect to Reverend Wright has been said.
Picking at this scab, that is trying to heal over does 3 kinds of damage. Follow below.
I have always considered myself to be an openminded and logical person. It was one of the main reasons why I rejected the idea of organized religion when I was a teenager. Someone standing over a pulpit shouting out that a man lived inside a whale for three days or that a burning bush began to talk or that a man lifted his hands and was allowed to split an entire sea in half or that two men turned wooden staffs into living, breathing (and apparently, hungry) snakes seemed more like science fiction to me than anything else. I have always been a person who sided with reason over sensation, facts over speculation. And as a professional poker player, being gullible comes at a price.
When Obama started his campaign for the Presidency, Fox News started attacking him. Lets see, they purposely mispelled his name to Barak Osama - then Barak Hussein Obama - he went to school at a Madrassa - Is he a Muslim? - then called him a Halfrican - attacked his wife for her comment about America - Bill O'Reilly's lynching party remark - the crowds faint in his presence - he's not the Messiah - Un-Patriotic - not putting his hand over his heart - the Flag Pin - Farrakahn - now Jeremiah Wright - he's so liberal - Anti-American - Anti Semite - comparing him to Hitler.
All of these remarks have been lies, spinning of the truth, including violent tendencies, hatred, racism, and questions his Patriotism.
This kind of talk spreads, infiltrates people's minds, extends to the other media outlets, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, that have repeated some of these same stories. I went to the Grocery Store last week, there were the Tabloids, that stare you in the face at the checkout lines - Reading Obama cheats on his wife and has many women. It makes you wonder what has happened to America and our media, after 9/11 has it gotten better or worse?
