Well, well, well, Jim Gilmore and his staff are at it again. Accusing Mark Warner of being a liar is about all his campaign has in its arsenal. That’s a bit like the pot calling the kettle black don’t you think?
Gilmore or rather "Drillmore" can’t get the facts straight, but then damn the facts and full steam ahead with the stupidity of the Virginia Republican Party.

The other day I was riding down some highway, somewhere, and a very large candy apple red truck with one inhabitant (and no payload) passed me in the fast lane. There was a sticker in the back window, the first line of which read HOW TO ANNOY A LIBERAL... but he was going too fast, so I couldn't read the rest of it.
It struck me that he was managing to annoy this progressive person even without benefit of bumper sticker by adding to global warming by driving a vehicle that gets about ten miles to the gallon

Someone forwarded the following email to members of the local Democratic Executive Committee of which I am a member. I dismissed it as stupidity, which it is. However, the chair of the committee is looking for a "debunking" of this. I think she's wondering if it's "true". The fact that it comes from the bat-guano crazy LaRouche campaign doesn't matter to her, because she likes LaRouche.
I know that this is stupid, but I do not know how to go about debunking this tripe, other than to say, "It's from Lyndon LaRouche."

Let's say we have a person born into a wealthy, old established WASP family in the suburbs of a major city in the Northern tier of the country. This person grows up around similar people, then atteneds an elite college for undergrad, and then obtains a professional degree from the top Ivy League institution in their chosen field.
Then, some years later, we find that this person, in spite of being a multi-millionaire at the very epicenter of power in America, in a way that is transparently painful adopts some of the trappings of working class culture, speaks with a fake accent laced with rural colloquialisms, rails against educated people, and is somehow widely accepted by the white working class as one of their own. We would be shocked that such a thing could be pulled off.

We have here two groups--originally cohabitant, but now separated by partition--fighting over the same territory. One group insists that they are being victimized and overrun; the other group insists that the first group is actually launching attacks on them to try to eliminate or overpower them. Both groups make gross exaggerations and generalizations about the other group. Both groups insist that the other group started it. In both groups, voices of reason are ignored in favor of rabid extremist haters. And because nobody is willing to be the first to stop the poo-flinging, the entire region ends up drowning in metaphorical excrement.
I just watched Larry King where Carville is spewing this BS about "Indiana is the tiebreaker" without much of a complaint from any of the Obama supporters. I know Obama said this at one point, but he, and his surrogates, need to back off this ridiculously stupid consent. Just because a state looks like it could be close does NOT mean that its significance is somehow elevated as far as the primary race goes. If the IN primary had occurred sometime in February, it's likely no one would be giving 2 shits about the way IN voted.
Quite simply stated, IN is not a tiebreaker because there is no tie. Obama is leading by an insurmountable amount (unless Super Delegates decide to throw the general election by overriding the voters), and therefore there ARE no tiebreakers.
The Obama camp has one glaring weakness. It seems that Obama and his pundits are either completely unwilling or unable to treat the American people like complete idiots. I don’t know where these jokers have been hiding but they seem to be completely oblivious to how we have been accustomed to being treated.
I think that there should be a requirement that the moderators should have to answer a questionnaire. The first of which should be do you gave a fucking clue.
My apologies for the length of this diary, but I had to voice my great sorrow concerning the state of public discourse in this country--which I felt frankly could not get any more despairing given the horrors of the Bush years. But this is it for me. Over the last week we have learned that the POTUS, Cheney, Rice, Colin Powell--the heads of the State Dept., and the judiciary have openly and willingly approved of torture--sadistic, horrific, soul-numbing torture. The story is now gone from the MSM. Outside the progressive blogworld, no outrage, no acknowledgement that this event is probably among the most significant in this country's history.
It is on Memphis news, and just BLEW me away. This is REAL, not a a snark or anything.
