Dear Sens. Clinton and Obama: Save yourselves from surrogate hell. Fire your staffs and hire me.

Anyone see it yet? | ![]() |
Before Samantha Power was forced to resign as Obama's foreign policy advisor she admitted to the BBC that Obama's Iraq withdrawal plan could change depending on conditions on the ground. Hillary's campaign has been unrelenting in its criticism ever since.
I am an Obama Supporter -- Seems it is neccessary these days to give this qualifying statement
Another Day, another series of prostrating comments In the Corporate Media and Outside the Corporate Media about some made up controversy.
Yeah -- I know, Jeremiah Wright --- blah blah blah
Geraldine Ferraro -- blah blah blah
Samantha Power -- blah blah blah
Bill Shaheen -- blah blah blah
Jesse Jackson Jr -- blah blah blah
Eliot Spitzer -- blah blah blah
WHAT THE FUCK is WRONG WITH US!!!!!!!
In her letter of resignation, Geraldine Ferraro - knowlingly or otherwise - borrowed heavily from, of all people, Samantha Power.
Samantha Power was forced to resign because of Clinton camp yet when Clinton camp did not reject and denounce Geraldine Ferarro it shows that Samantha Power should be reinstated as a Obama advisor. Why should Samantha Power be forced to resign when Howard Wolfson broke his own rules.
Howard Wolfson, Clinton's communications director, claimed that when Clinton campaign officials made slurs against Obama, they were sacked. "We did it in Iowa. We did it in New Hampshire." He added: "If one of us had made those comments about Senator Obama we would not be on the phone call this morning."
Bring back Samantha Power NOW!
The difference between the two campaigns can be easily found in the quality of the people surrounding them.
Samantha Power: noted journalist with a Pulitzer Prize, reports from places like Rwanda, has HUGE credentials when she talks. She knows a monster when she sees one. Her mistake: talking to the Scotsman and caring too much.
Geraldine Ferraro: Participated in the failed campaign to unseat Reagan. Yes, she undermined Reagan's story on Nicaragua, and is pro-choice, but...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
You took the bait! WHY?!?!?
Unless you think Tom Daschle was freelancing while in Meet the Press. [Which would not be the first time an Obama surrogate went off the reservation. But unlike Samantha Power or Austin Gooslby, Tom Daschle is a seasoned politcal veteran].
I’ve got to give Sen. Obama credit for firing Samantha Power for what she said about Hillary in her interview with the Scotsman last week. Her verbal attacks were inexcusable and he did the right thing.
Hillary was campaigning in Mississippi Friday and the Chicago Tribune quoted Hillary as saying this regarding Power’s resignation ...
Well I think sen. Obama did the right thing, but I think it’s important to look at what she and his other advisors say behind closed doors, particularly when they’re talking to foreign governments and foreign press. It raises disturbing questions about what the real planning and policy positions inside the Obama campaign happen to be.
There’s more...
I am glad Samantha Power has resigned from Obama's campaign. Good riddance. Her comments angered me. And I don't mean calling Hillary a monster. It was the rest of her statement that got me.
Samantha Power said: "We f***** up in Ohio. In Ohio, they are obsessed and Hillary is going to town on it because she knows Ohio's the only place they can win."
Cross-posted from my blog.
Forget an Obama aide calling Hillary Clinton a monster. As Kos reported, according to the Times Online, a Clinton aide has called the 27 states that Obama has won "boutique" and "latte-sipping."
"One Clinton aide yesterday derided Mr Obama’s victories in ’boutique’ caucus states rather than the hardscrabble terrain of the rustbelt, saying: ‘Obama has won the small caucus states with the latte-sipping crowd. They don’t need a president, they need a feeling.’"
Why not buy her books?
Samantha Power has written extremely well-received books regarding genocide and the trials and challenges of the UN. Reading them seems like a good idea.
Some would say worse. Daschle:
"It's comments like [Wolfson's] that make me question whether we do have the same standards," said the former Senate Majority Leader. "I don't think that you can make a statement like that and consider yourself within the bounds of civility. I mean, this shouldn't be tolerated. It's not acceptable, and it's unfortunate."
More after the jump...
"She is a monster, too – that is off the record – she is stooping to anything. [...] You just look at her and think, 'Ergh'. But if you are poor and she is telling you some story about how Obama is going to take your job away, maybe it will be more effective. The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive." - Samantha Power, now former foreign policy advisor to Barack Obama, in an interview with The Scotsman
Like many Obama supporters, my first reaction when I heard about the above quote was unqualified agreement. Hillary Clinton and her surrogates have said and done a lot of unpredictable and destructive things recently to prop up her flagging campaign, and I think any rational Democrat paying attention would concur that a person who many of us used to admire and respect, has morphed into something out of an H. P. Lovecraft story - Hillary Cloverfield, if you will.
This is my first diary so please feel free to let me know if I have made any mistakes in format. Thank you.
Hillary Clinton just opened a big can of worms.
Seeking to stay on the offensive against Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton today attacked him for saying one thing to Americans and another thing to foreigners. Her evidence? Comments about Obama's Iraq withdrawal plan made by Samantha Power (also of Monster-gate), who has now resigned from her unpaid role as an informal adviser to Barack Obama's campaign.
Obviously, Clinton's campaign must be pretty desperate to be attacking the unofficial comments of an informal unpaid adviser (who has now resigned).
But the real story is that her decision to make contacts between campaign advisers and foreign governments an issue could boomerang something fierce.
I'll give you just three examples: her campaign's role on NAFTA-gate, her chief strategist Mark Penn's representation of sovereign wealth funds from the United Arab Emirates, and her husband's financial ties to not only the UAE, but also Frank Giustra and what that would mean for U.S. relations with Kazakhstan in a third Clinton administration.
I am astonished that Samantha Power resigned from the Obama campaign and that Obama let her resign. She is an extremely intelligent person and was a major asset to his campaign. She is a Harvard Professor who had received the 2003 Pulitzer Prize.
