Racism, Religion and the Media

Fri May 09, 2008 at 09:29:35 AM PDT

Today I received an email from the group Brave New Films that makes liberal political videos for the web. This email was about one that they teamed with Mother Jones to produce regarding McCain's relationship with the Rev. Ron Parsley. It's worth taking a look at when you get the chance.

But it got me to thinking, is there really a racist bias in the MSM regarding this presidential campaign and might it show up particularly in stories involving religion?

Hillary's Fascist Pastor

Sat May 03, 2008 at 11:36:35 AM PDT

Obama has Wright.
McCain has Hagee, Parsely, et al.
HILLARY HAS DOUG COE.

Obama's Rev. Wright is a total Progressive clergyman, doing the charitable work and supporting social justice through clear thinking and awareness of historical context.

McCain's pastors Hagee and Parsely and the rest of his group of Christianists with reactionary ideology and profiteering tactics, are total opportunists and succeed in their ambitions by manipulating their "flocks" (read that as $HEEP), and obviously act as petty crooks fingering their marks.

Hillary's Doug Coe of The Fellowship (aka The Family) is THE FASCISTS' PASTOR. Doug Coe works to fashion the death of Democratic Freedoms and insert THEOCRACY instead. And he admittedly, by choice, uses the methods of Hitler (see his written instructions to his devotees, below)! Doug Coe's goals are the goals of an anti-Constitution degenerate who desires to mold a new world religious order based on a twisted "morality" of solidarity and obedience to Authority in a fascist context!

HILLARY MUST BE THOROUGHLY VETTED! SHE MUST!

HILLARY'S CONNECTION TO DOUG COE AND THE FELLOWSHIP MUST BE MADE CLEAR AND KNOWN!  It's an anti-Constitution connection.

Hillary, Rev. Wright, & Separation of Church & State

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 07:59:47 PM PDT

Hillary Clinton's rabid and continuous attacks against Reverend Wright are extraordinary and worthy of speculative analysis.  Is she exposing her position on the religious spectrum: Is Hillary incapable of tolerating a liberal Christian like Rev. Wright because she herself is a rightwing religious fundamentalist at heart?  Does this contention against Rev. Wright she is expressing  clarify her position on the religious spectrum?  Is Hillary a 'closet' rightwing religious fundamentalist like her many friends in The Fellowship?  Does trouncing Rev. Wright have symbolic as well as actual importance to her and her friends? Can we FINALLY ask Hillary Clinton what her position is on separation of church and state?!

Tit for Tat: What about the Fellowship

Tired of the attacks. What about HRC's spiritual guidance? I know this diary is somewhat fact free, but I'm asking for some community action and help cause I just don't have time.

Audacity To Hope Jeremiah Wright Part 1

The fact that so many people are surprised to hear that anger in some of Reverend Wright’s sermons simply reminds us of the old truism that the most segregated hour in American life occurs on Sunday morning.

Hillary must choose: Authenticity or Stealth?

Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 12:42:42 AM PDT

Mother Jones' (Oct. 2007 issue, page 40) article "Hillary's Prayer" has made it impossible for me to look at Hillary Clinton without wanting to take my fingernail and scratch off her Dynastic veneer to get to the authentic individual who prays with the likes of Tom Coburn, George Allen, Joe Lieberman, Bob Bennett, James Inhofe, Sam Brownback, and who embraces with them a "spiritual war" against, uh, who are their enemies in their spiritual war, anyway?!

Hillary, Religion, and Mother Jones

Sat Aug 18, 2007 at 04:36:42 PM PDT

People's religious beliefs and practices aren't typically of much concern to me.  As long as my neighbors aren't sacrificing small animals in the name of their beliefs, handling venomous reptiles on my lawn, advocating inequality for or violence towards those who have differing beliefs, and so on, I figure each to his or her own.   OTOH, when others attempt to press their beliefs on individuals or the citizenry at large through violence, legislation, and/or the exercise of their political power, it's time to be concerned and to act.

The September-October issue of Mother Jones arrived in my mail two days ago.  An article entitled "Hillary's Prayer" wasn't high on my list to read immediately, but after I read it, I thought it's time to be concerned.  More below the fold...

Sam Brownback's Neo-Carlist Vision for America.

Fri Jun 22, 2007 at 10:43:44 AM PDT

This article originally was posted at Talk to Action

As an American Catholic I am grateful for the separation of church and state. My government's disentanglement from church policy positions means that it cannot be used as the Vatican's policy enforcer. I am secure in the knowledge that I can freely disagree with my faith's hierarchy without fear of retribution or limitations upon my personal pursuit of happiness.

Now comes U.S. Senator Sam Brownback (R-Ks.) in his bid to become the Republican nominee for president in 2008. If elected, he promises to enforce Vatican orthodoxy whether you are Catholic or not.  Brownback is a neo-Carlist -- a recent convert to Opus Dei-style Catholicism who doesn't agree with JFK that Catholic elected officials should not to take orders from the Vatican.

Senator Brownback Plain Fruity

Mon Jan 30, 2006 at 07:44:39 PM PDT

Okay, I always though Brownback was an odd dude, but I had no idea he had plans within plans. My reintroduction to Brownback started when I heard some bizarre thing concerning fruit, the Bible and slander towards Sweden by a US Senator on tv here in Mexico. Feeling my Spanish had left me, I did a google and in fact Senator Brownback had made a slander towards Sweden using an obscure Biblical fruit reference.

Gay 365 gets points for having the funniest headline:
Brownback 'Fruit' Slur Prompts Demands For Apology

I'll let you make your own jokes.

So wonder what Brownback has been up too, I found a rather scary and frightening article at Rolling Stones. Has anyone else read this? I mean, my goodness:

http://www.rollingstone.com/...

Go read it yourself, but here are some of the scary highlights. I am good Luthern boy, but I am not sure this is what Jesus had in mind, or the Framers of the Constitution:
