Five Disingenuous Tips from Fox to Obama
Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 05:47:32 PM PDT
Neil Cavuto, over at Fox News, has graciously decided to provide "Five Tips" for Senator Obama that will presumably help him in the election. It was hard to tell at first if the entire article was snark, since the five tips boil down to, "stop being so smart and charismatic all the time."
But no, as far as I can tell, Cavuto is serious. Or at least, he wants to appear to be serious, maybe in the desperate hopes Obama would take him up on some of his terrible advice.
So without further ado, five pieces of advice that Neil Cavuto thinks would help John McCain's Barack Obama's campaign.
The Audacity of Process

I have been a huge Obama supporter from day one. Today I’m succumbing to that temptation every supporter has, I guess – the desire to impart campaign advice to your candidate, even when he and his team have run a brilliant campaign.
The Washington Post today reported on the challenge of getting Obama’s process message across to working-class audiences.
They quoted from his speech thusly:
"When we push back the special interests, when we unify the country, when we speak honestly with the American people about our challenges, there's nothing we can't accomplish, nothing we can't do," he said here. "When we unify the country, we will change our economy."

I've written a couple of these diaries in the past and they made me feel better.
I woke up thinking about the situation. The Field has some great points.
Here are a few from me - let me know what you think.
now - where Obama needs to go

I didn't say it before Super Tuesday, but I was squeamish about Obamamania. There needs to be fewer endorsers in the press, less emphasis on the giddy support, and more clarity about his positions.
On his positions Obama needs to emphasize his thriftiness. His promises will not come with huge price tags, or they will go back to the drawing board. People worry that dreams are expensive.
He needs to totally focus on domestic issues - the economy and very practical down-to-earth solutions. The broad brush is scary.
