Not much to say about this loser that hasn’t already been said. The new rising star of the Republican presidential hopefuls is a former governor of Arkansas with a few choice attributes that make him the perfect Republican.

He equates homosexuality with pedophilia and necrophilia (perhaps an association made by spending too much time in Church), refused to retract his absurd 1992 comment that people with AIDS should be quarantined, and is one of those self-appointed soldiers for Christ, to whom the fringes on the religious right gravitate like flies to feces.

Last week's "Top 10 Moments in Mike Huckabee's Extremism" provided a snapshot of the dangerously radical zealot who now also happens to be a frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination.  But as more skeletons emerge from Governor Huckabee's closet, Americans are getting a fuller picture of a man who seeks to render the wall separating church and state, to paraphrase Alberto Gonzales, quaint.  As it turns out, Mike Huckabee isn't merely a religious extremist who threatens mainstream America values, but an ethically-challenged operator with a track record of gorging at the public trough.

Mike Huckabee is certainly learning how to parse his language so well that someone from the Bush Administration must be helping him.

The Huckster recently suggested in Newsweek that hanging a stray dog that had mange was humane. In this way, he is just like the Bush Administration: torture isn't torture if you (or your son) did it.

  Or perhaps it is training Republicans to be psychopaths?  Hard to say which, but almost almost all mental health professionals will tell you that animal torture and killing while young, is characteristic of those who later have little problem killing and torturing humans. And it appears that Republicans are not upset when their chidren treat animals this way. Most people know of Frist's adoption of stray cat for vivisection and surgery practice. Young George Bush's exploding frogs are common knowledge. But the newest animal cruelty report comes from one of the Republicans running for POTUS.

I borrowed my headline from a comment by Atrios concerning David Huckabee, son of distinguished Repbulican backrunner for president Mike Huckabee. There have been numerous comments around Skippy’s blogtopia about it, mostly snark, of course. Even a drive-by diary on dKos. But none of them mentioned what makes this so special for me.
