God CURSES, Dooms AMERICA Says McCain Backer Pastor Hagee

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 01:58:07 PM PDT

This is an instant campaign. First of all, please spread the graphic, right, around: post it on your blogs, send it to your friends...

I've got a video on the way, but this article itself needs to get around, widely. It's designed to help stop the ridiculously excessive media focus on Obama's ex-pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

First, if you have any time please vote this up on reddit, Digg and Buzzflash

Also, I've been writing stories on McCain and Hagee for over a year now, and I've put links to some of those at the end of this post, as resources you can pass around to give your friends ideas if they are writing anything on this subject. McCain/Hagee is an immensely rich vein.

Thanks for your activism and support,
Bruce Wilson

WE'RE DOOOOOOOOOMED!

Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 01:30:05 PM PDT

It's over! Barack is down 70 points in every poll! Reverend Wright is on every TV station 24-7 with ominous music playing, just like on 9/11/01! The superdelegates are fleeing like rats off a sinking ship! Hillary is dancing! McCain is salivating! The world hates us! Karl Rove has had his revenge!

I have read a lot of bad things about bad things today, and frankly, I'm concerned.

So if you'll read down below, I will go into great detail about the problem we now face.

It's quite serious, so please put your serious face on, and read this seriously.

I know a lot of you think I only post here to be funny, but this is on my mind, and it's really bothering me, so let me know what you think down below, OK?

Economic doomsayers

Tue Jan 22, 2008 at 06:30:39 PM PDT

These are just a few quotes without comment, of some very dire economic forecasts that bunched up in the past few days (except for this first one, from a month ago). I'm not vouching for them; merely noting their similar direness, and stroking my chin in a "could-be" sort of way.

2007-12-21
Gerald Celente, Editor and Publisher, The Trends Journal, Rhinebeck, New York:  (Interviewed by Linda Moulton Howe,  Earthfiles.com.)

"Economic 9/11, we believe is going to hit the United States in 2008. And just as the World Trade Centers toppled from the top down, we're going to see the crash happen from the top down as well. This talk about the sub-prime market. Yes, that's a problem, but nothing compared to when the big firms start failing, when banks go bust, brokerages go out of business. In 2008, we're going to see some major, giant firms fall and get hit by an economic 9/11. We don't know what the fuse will look like, but we know that the bomb is set already. And when it's lit, we believe it's going to happen before June of 2008."

Fake Gay Sympathy and Peanut Butter

Wed Sep 26, 2007 at 12:01:08 PM PDT

The faxes must have been flowing from SPECTRE  (Society for Professional Expressive Concern Troll Republican Entities) to the field reps today.

Why?  Because the local Rethug talk shows up to Limbaugh are all about how, HOW, the left could support a dictator (President of Iran) who kills and murders gays in Iran.

We are the deer in the headlights

Wed Jan 17, 2007 at 06:10:50 PM PDT

Bush is frequently mocked as the proverbial "deer in the headlights" frozen into inaction by overwhelming fear and deep ignorance. But, faced with the possibility of a ruinous war with Iran, who is the deer? Bush has the initiative. Bush, Cheney, and their minions are deftly moving military assets into place and ratcheting up the infowar against Iran. At a time and place of their choosing, they will launch this war. They are in command of events. And what about everyone else? Let's take stock:

A Tale of Two Grandpas

Tue Dec 19, 2006 at 07:37:29 AM PDT

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm with Jerome on this one.  I live in Nebraska and the only Grandpa I've ever known was this sexist, racist, abrasive, conservative. He's a hoot to argue with, I've blown his mind a few times, but it gets old pretty fast.  So when my Mom met her biological Dad from New York three years ago, I was so excited.  I was even more excited when I found out he was a Democrat, Oh joy!  A Democrat, in my family, I was elated.  And then I met him.  And I realized something.  My Nebraska Grandpa and my New York Grandpa might as well be the same person.

Another Letter from Virginia

Sun Dec 17, 2006 at 02:27:07 PM PDT

In 1897, a letter was printed in the New York Sun, purportedly from a little girl named Virginia.

Dear Editor—

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, "If you see it in The Sun, it’s so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O’Hanlon

First, you notice the letter is an obvious plant; what kid would call her mates "my little friends"?  This is an adult perspective. Anyway, she was publicly answered in the traditional way adults respond to embarrassing questions from kids, with a series of judicious lies using abstract nouns:  "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion – "

Supposing Virginia were to continue to question orthodoxy, and her doubts were to involve another mythical character from the Christmas season seen everywhere with no known original...

Stink Bomb Extinctions from Scientific American

Tue Sep 26, 2006 at 02:53:42 PM PDT

So you think we'll all just move to Canada when it gets warmer? The rich nations will outcompete the poor ones, and you, with your computer, SUV and "stuff" will be mildly inconvenienced?

Scientific American has scary news for you.

Mass extinctions in the past are linked to CO2 going over 1000 ppm (parts per million). They are now around 400 ppm, and predicted to rise at 3 ppm or better.

When CO2 is over 1000, Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is released in quantities that kill all oxygen based life (That's YOU, baby!)

What will happen if Bush continues to slide in the polls?

Wed Sep 06, 2006 at 04:23:12 PM PDT

He's now a one trick pony.  The speeches will come more often.  The rhetoric will become wilder.

One day he'll jump the shark and completely lose the American people.

The next day he'll throw Rumsfeld under the bus.

This will happen in October, but only if the Democrats stay tuned in on their message of competence.  Remember, we can fight the war better.  Iraq is a mismanaged misadventure having nothing to do with the war on terror.  Democrats can solve America's problems.  We are competent and committed.  We should be alert to leftie outliers called up by Bush buddies in the media.  We should name them as outliers.  And don't you just love Al Gore for re-introducing that word to the American people?  I do.

The big essay on 9/11 and social hacks is coming tomorrow.

Death by mascara?

Sun Aug 20, 2006 at 03:36:40 PM PDT

Re latest -cough- emergency requiring that women not fly with cosmetics:

Lipstick was quickly declared legit here after hundreds of angry phone calls by women of power--yet is still VERY DANGEROUS in Britain. Mascara, however, is apparently one of the scariest substances in the universe.

Death by mascara: any physicists out there want to explain to po little me how that's possible? Am I gonna threaten anyone with the little wand? Lure them to their doom with my lush lashes?

It's been known to happen, she says, batting her eyelashes :)

Osama: safe enough we disband the group looking for him.

Mascara: the new enemy.

I rest my case, and apparently I also rest my cosmetics case...

Doom and Revolution

Sat May 06, 2006 at 04:02:25 PM PDT

Preface to dKos editon.

I'm in the process of laying out some Revelations which, unlike the United States of America Fundamentalist Christian Right's diseased and syphillitic version of the same term, might possibly be encouraging for the US Jaded Left and other closer-to-humans.  In preparation for that Great Advent, I'm laying down ground cover.  It is in line with a previous diary, which I shalt not whore and therefore won't link here, regarding Death Camps for Kids in Ukraine.

That one is the main point.

Does Bush's failure foreshadow the decline+fall of the US?

Wed Apr 26, 2006 at 02:00:20 AM PDT

Bush's Regime is, as a whole, almost unquestionably the worst in American history.  This foul-plagued Administration couldn't come at a much worse time for US.  In the Clinton years, the nation managed to overcome some major economic and social problems, and achieved a high level of stature in the global community.  There was peace in the world, with a few regional conflicts, but the US enjoyed unprecedented peace and prosperity.  Budget deficits accumulated from the Vietnam era through the Reagan Admin were turned into  surpluses, and progress was made toward paying down the national debt.  We were on our way back after the cold war, and the US appeared to be resurgent.  We were free, and we had one of the great democracies in the world.  One could rightly be proud to be an American, even though Clinton had to do all in his power to fend off right wing quasi-fascists who attempted to impeach him for sexual infidelity.

Iran bombing just 'speculation' say Dems

Wed Apr 12, 2006 at 06:53:13 AM PDT

I called the offices of the two senators from MA, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, and talked to some staffers.  The subject was the Hersh report about the administration's plans to bomb Iran.

The conversation was short and nice enough, since we're all on the same side.  Or are we?  Both staffers used the words, "well, that's just speculation," which means they bought the Bush line.

The over-under for tonight's ballgame is speculation.  The weather for Easter Sunday is speculation.  Reporting by a prominent journalist on the beginning of WWIII is called news.

Scared yet?

Will we throw flowers?

Tue Apr 11, 2006 at 08:39:32 AM PDT

The following is a rant.  A very angry one.  I have no idea what to do: fly a flag upside-down, march on DC, move to Mars, eat a bullet.  No idea.  The president and his party are determined to bomb and invade Iran, and it will break this country.  It will break this country.

FLASH!! Science Sez Earth, Sun Doomed

Tue Feb 14, 2006 at 02:10:00 PM PDT

In a review of recent attempts at NASA to de-gloomify all that science stuff they allegedly do there, the New York Times notes "In a different example of spinning science news last month, NASA headquarters removed a reference to the future death of the sun from a press release about the discovery of comet dust around a distant star known as a white dwarf".

Why was this reference removed? Because "it probably reflects the grim but very distant future of our own planets and solar system." And the official position: "NASA is not in the habit of frightening the public with doom and gloom scenarios."

Maybe they should check the body count on that space shuttle scenario.
