Republican Party steals photos from Flickr without citation, thus violating US copyright laws
Thu Jun 26, 2008 at 10:47:29 AM PDT
Found this over at The Political Newsline
It seems the RNC blog has been posting images that don't belong to them that they have been taking from flickr, without any citation or any credit given to the original authors!
Certainly not the most illegal thing the GOP has done, by any stretch of the imagination, but still, just add it to the pile.
Flickr Daily Kossack group: Just do it. Go. Now.

(Posted Thursday pm/Friday am for the night crew, reposted tonight for the Saturday night folks. Also added a bit more info.)
Yes, yes, I know. I disappeared for, like, a year. It's a long, somewhat horrible story. For those of you newbies who don't know me, um... well... hi!
I'm a Kossack community-building attention whore from way back. I like all the aspects of this community that are all about building the human bonds between us: the snark, the personal stories, the pop culture threads, and yes, even the pooties.
In that spirit, I've started a Flickr group called Daily Kossacks.
Details below.

"Edwards campaign leads pack in online access"
Thu May 10, 2007 at 09:51:29 AM PDT
A great, yet short piece from the Washington Post discusses the breadth of coverage that the Edwards team has online. Within the article is a mention of, I think, the main reason that Edwards has shown up on not only YouTube and MySpace, but 43 Things, Twitter, Second Life, and more: Elizabeth Edwards.
As the article tells us, "When their teen-age son, Wade, died in 1996, Elizabeth Edwards turned to online support groups. A couple of years ago, staffers say she was the one who turned to her husband's team and asked, ‘What do you know about podcasting?’" I think most of us know that EE is likely to show up in any old thread, any old time – it’s part of the reason that EVERYONE loves Elizabeth, even if they don’t support John.
A tour of the Edwards online community after the break.
Beautiful Protest at Reed College
Tue Mar 13, 2007 at 10:57:30 AM PDT
Please go look at this flickr photoset.
It is taken by a flickr member who goes under the name of "enemy combatant." It is posted at BoingBoing, and when I saw the first image there it brought a tear to my eye.
I'm a Reed alumna, and say cheers to the students and/or faculty who put that together, as well as the photographer.
Sorry for the shortness of this diary, I just wanted to help disseminate these images.
