Sirota dissembles...?

Mon Nov 12, 2007 at 09:13:33 AM PDT

If you were a nationally-syndicated, progressive columnist, your stock-in-trade during the primary season would be your "impartiality," or "issues-oriented" approach - as many people denigrate the writings of "partisan hacks," those who "shill" for their candidate under the guise of their, um, superior grasp on the issues, rather than their slavish fealty to any candidate.

So it's not surprising that David Sirota, known here as davidsirota, would want to, nay, need to, cling to an image of being above the fray, candidate-endorsement-wise.

Scalia uses Digital Sicilian Salute on Reporter

Mon Mar 27, 2006 at 10:39:52 AM PDT

Yesterday, while leaving the mass, our august Supreme Court judge, who arguably has one of the most serious jobs in this nation, responds to a reporter's inquiry regarding how he maintains impartiality regarding religion by flipping hmi 'the bird', the middle finger gesturing a most insolent pornographic swear, at a member of the press seeking a quotable quote, and is caught in the act by a Church reporter for The Pilot... [Updated to correct Scalia's status.]
