Murdoch’s Political Escapades – Conflict of Interest??
Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 03:42:06 PM PDT
In 2002, Metromedia International Group (whose largest outside shareholder was Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.) started to run into trouble, eventually ending with the stock crashing from $20 to only 1 CENT (more details at http://www.dailykos.com/... The chief reasons for this MASSIVE DEVALUATION were numerous legal violations and missing assets in the realm of over $140 million. However, before any of these acts occurred, multiple Senators, holding crucial seats on committees which would be responsible for investigating the events to come, received $1,000 contributions from Murdoch and top Metromedia Execs. Is this really just a coincidence?
U.S. Economy Tanking - George W. Bush To Blame?
Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 08:00:32 AM PDT
The newest job figures are even worse than people had originally feared. US employers shed 80,000 jobs in March, Labor Department figures have shown, in the latest sign that the US economy may be falling into recession.
I think a great deal of what we're now seeing can be attributed to George W. Bush's economic policies and the impunity with which the Haves are able to lord over the Have-Nots. It may lead to short term benefits but the system is inherently flawed. We are now seeing the consequences of predatory lenders, credit card bankruptcy reform, a tax code that preys on the working class for the benefit of the few, the outrageous spending and national debt and the weakening of the U.S. dollar.
Am I putting to much blame on a President for our country's economic woes? I don't claim to be a well versed economist but I think that his administration's policies have had an unusually high impact.
Add weather to the list of excuses
Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 12:27:30 PM PDT
The Clinton campaign, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton have used a variety of excuses to dismiss Obama's huge wins.
It's the black people.
It's the caucuses.
It's the red states.
It's the latte-drinking over-educated liberals.
You can add another one now. Weather.
