A new Oregon poll conducted by the Portland Tribune shows Obama with a massive lead.
J.C. Watts defends Obama.

I don't believe this was diaried before - in any case, conservative Republican J.C. Watts wrote a great piece in Sunday's Las Vegas Journal-Review about Obama.
ACTION ITEM: The REAL effect of Operation Chaos on the Democratic primary and the media myths.

I can't take it anymore. I can't take everyone assuming that Obama is doing really badly with certain sectors of white voters, when it's all based on lies.
For the following diary, I got all my exit poll data from allpolitics.com.
NOW is not the time to get complacent about Obama's chances, even though it looks like the Supers are flooding to Obama. If you agree with this diary, please call or email the undeclared Superdelegates with this information.

The GateKeepers: Running the Media Gauntlet
Sat May 10, 2008 at 09:12:11 AM PDT
When it comes to the national media, there are no shortage of things to complain about. They routinely blend staggering arrogance with breathtaking ignorance to create the perfect storm of inanity.
They are dominated by fire-breathing, partisan Republicans meekly "balanced" by nonpartisan journalists.
They studiously avoid any discussion of policy, leaving them plenty of time to obsess on the petty, pointless, and personal.
But one of the most troubling aspects of the modern celebrity press corp is their self-appointed role as gatekeepers of national elections. The media have taken it upon themselves to decide, based on an arbitrary and ever-changing set of rules, who can run for office, who is cool, and who gets excluded.
Obama Linked To Hamas!
Sat May 10, 2008 at 07:05:49 AM PDT
It's true! The New York Times has reported it, and MSNBC is carrying it this morning as its lead story.

Media Scorecard: Obama Vs. Clinton
Fri May 09, 2008 at 02:52:04 PM PDT
Now that this whole 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominating contest winds down, lots of folks are dropping their guard, particularly in the media. Those of us on DailyKos spend a lot of time on the net, plus on the cable networks getting our fix. We have seen and heard lots of opinions under the guise of reporting.
Don't Fall for the Expectations: MEDIA HYPE

icebergslim, here.

to tell you all this: DON'T FALL FOR THE MEDIA HYPE
I don't know how many diaries must be written or trounced into heads here, but don't fall for it.
Here is why, below the fold:
Emailing Huffington Post -- I can't take it anymore
Mon May 05, 2008 at 01:17:48 PM PDT
I know there have been a couple of other diaries complaining about Mayhill Fowler on Huffington Post and her "citizen-journalism" coverage of the Obama campaign. She claims to have given more money to Obama than Hillary (and also contributed to Fred Thompson just to support her home state!), and claims to be somewhat of an Obama supporter, but what she writes are without a doubt hit pieces on Obama and she's even fabricates stories to make him look bad. If that's citizen journalism, it's no better (and maybe even worse) than the MSM.
Today when I logged onto the Huff Post site, Fowler's newest headline jumped out at me, and I decided I couldn't take it any more. So I wrote emails to the addresses I could find for Huffington Post. Here's what I wrote:
Obama's Tired Campaign?
Mon May 05, 2008 at 10:02:26 AM PDT
I was just reading an article by Albert R. Hunt on Bloomberg.com. I really hate to beat him over the head because the article was reasonably fair. That is a very diffuclt thing to find in the media these days since everyone seems obsessed with trying to keep the Democratic primary going. I suppose I can see their point since no one will be paying attention to these guys and gals once the nomination is settled.
Stephanopoulos lacks testicular fortitude
Mon May 05, 2008 at 02:24:30 AM PDT
Dear ABC
This Week with George Stephanopoulos can only be described as an hour long paid campaign advertisement for Hillary Clinton. When he did find the "testicular fortitude" to dare to ask Senator Clinton about some of the scandal that is once again swirling around the Clintons, he is brushed aside like petulant child. To use Mrs. Clinton's words, if the boy "can't stand the heat" get him out of the kitchen. Whether it is a sense of loyalty to the Clintons or something more sinister, he is inept at dealing with a Clinton interview. Even the "town hall" questions were so scripted that it was like being at a George W Bush press conference without NBC's Gregory. One of the two questions from supposedly Obama supporters was about Reverend Wright. Now if that doesn't sound contrived, what does.
Media Bias: Where's Rev. Hagee? Where's Pastor Parsley?
Sun May 04, 2008 at 07:24:45 AM PDT
Frank Rich, in his op-ed piece today in the New York Time's "The All-White Elephant in the Room" asks why the media has not focused more on McCain's association with Rev. John Hagee. I agree. But what about Pastor Rod Parsley? This man is as much a hater of Islam as Hagee is a hater of Catholicism.
I blocked CNN Today. (And you can too!)
Fri May 02, 2008 at 09:08:52 PM PDT
Today I wrote a strong letter and faxed it to CNN after having called my cable company to have them explain to me how to block CNN and Headline News. I really hope this gets recced and tipped because I want to reach the widest possible audience in the hopes that some people will follow my example.
Bias in the media

Headlines: Obama fights perception he is an elitist vs. McCain backs off gov't waste as cause of bridge collapse
Media Bias is running rampant at MSNBClinton
Thu May 01, 2008 at 05:54:36 PM PDT
Let me first start off by saying that I am pissed about the fact that I had to pay almost $75 for gas today. Running through Hillary & McCentury's ridiculous gas tax-holiday plan in my head, I realized that I would save a total of $3 dollars/week, may $6, depends on how many times I fill up. And for that, I would have to risk driving on fucked up roads, messing up my tires, or worried that bridges that I am driving on are about to collapse. But when I got home and turned on MSNBC, I heard none of that, I just heard about Rev. Wright.
Chirs Matthews, Bill O, Tim Russert quit Catholic Church
Thu May 01, 2008 at 05:50:19 PM PDT
Earlier today four leading members of the news media announced that they were leaving the Catholic Church.
"I just came to realize that the institution I belong to has for years been responsible for terrible acts of molestation against the young men in their charge," Chris Matthews remarked, adding,"I could no longer support the institution that enabled this kind of terrible treatment of our youth."
Tim Russert added, "4,000 people molested nearly 30,000 children? Just think about that, they could fill nearly two Sabres arenas with all the victims, and the church I am a member of covered this abuse up for DECADES."
Sean Hannity noted, "My staying in that pew would have meant that I myself was a child molester, I had to leave the church, I had no choice."
"Anybody who doesn't follow my lead should burn in hell, to treat children in such a manner," chided Bill O'Reilly, "that's why these kids should all get a copy of "The Factor for Kids'..."
equal scrutiny for Hillary
Thu May 01, 2008 at 06:57:51 AM PDT
Now that we've delved pretty far into Obama's gaffe in San Francisco and his problems with Rev. Wright, we can ask how they stack up next to recent statements of Hillary. Let's just take two:
