If All You Know about Iran Is Ahmadinejad's Not in Charge, You Don't Know Enough

Tue May 20, 2008 at 05:21:36 PM PDT

As was reported on Jim Lehrer's News Hour this evening, George and Laura Bush expressed concern and extended the American hand of aid and support to China today as the Chinese people and their leaders begin the task of recovering from a significant earthquake that struck southwest China.

Some Chinese parents are complaining bitterly that their children died in a school that was obliterated by the earthquake because the school was shoddily built and was not designed to withstand a predictable disaster.

Although the great majority of Americans do not endorse most of the actions and statements of George Bush, surely all Americans join him in expressing sorrow and compassion to the Chinese people whose children were obliterated in the earthquake in Chengdu.

But how is Iran related to Chengdu?

Does anyone know the protestor? He did a great job, anyway. =)

Blatantly Dangerous

Tue May 06, 2008 at 11:13:08 AM PDT

It is a well known fact that a majority of Jewish voters are in favor of Hillary Clinton for President.  Barack Obama has been behind the 8 ball with this voting group because of his supposed sympathy for the Palastenians.  He's also doesn't want to "obliterate" and nuke Iran if Iran was to attack Israel.

Wikpedia describes treason as follows... "treason is the crime that covers some of the more serious acts of disloyalty to one's sovereign or nation."

(UPDATE) - You don't belive there are a lot of pro Israeli Jewish people living in the U.S. and that their main concern is the survival and bettermant of Israel???  Why do you think Hillary is saying she'll "obliterate" Iran?  EXACTLY for this vote!!!  Wasn't it one of Israel's former primer ministers who recently said that 9/11 was beneficial for Israel, because of U.S. policy in the region?

Mrs. Clinton, Is THIS what you meant by 'Obliterate' Iran ?

Mon May 05, 2008 at 06:03:12 AM PDT

John McCain has joked about it by singing "Bomb Bomb Iran," at a VFW hall. Hillary Clinton has recently stated that, if she were elected the next US president and Iran launches a nuclear attack on Israel, the United States would "obliterate" Iran. Under the Bush Administration, United States nuclear doctrine has been rewritten to incorporate the offensive use of tactical nuclear weapons as large or larger than the 15-20 kiloton nuclear bomb that seared living humans in the nearly unspeakable manner shown in the newly released photographs I have posted here.

Israel is widely believed to possess not only a nuclear first strike but also a nuclear second strike ability. Thus, if Iran launched a nuclear attack on Israel, Israel would still be able to 'obliterate' Iran.

The United States is the only nation to have used nuclear weapons in war or against civilian populations. The following images are photographs taken after the US nuclear bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

A warning: the following images are extremely graphic and may be very disturbing:

Russert: US "Planning Airstrikes", Rich Does Hagee/McCain

Sun May 04, 2008 at 07:38:27 AM PDT

Today on Meet The Press, Tim Russert suggested that the US is ready to hit Iran. Russert also brought up Clinton's "obliterate Iran" quote and asked Barack Obama what he thinks of Clinton's "nuclear umbrella" idea. [ Here's what I think the correct MTP clip is, here's the master MTP page I'm listening now for the key Russert quotes...

[getting audio - give me about 10-15 to get to the important stuff... ]

Meanwhile, Frank Rich just devoted a NYT op-ed to the media's unwillingness to cover the relationship of John McCain to John Hagee !

Hillary's 'obliterate Iran' Has Really Pissed Off Tehran

Thu May 01, 2008 at 02:22:04 AM PDT

I keep wondering why more has not been made of HC's remarks in the US media. I spend time abroad where there is a noticeable difference on reaction and coverage of her military stance and many of my European friends have questioned me why the US media has not been discussing her words threatening Iran and her "umbrella" policy for the ME outlined in the last debate.

Globe Editorial Calls Clinton "Hillary Strangelove"/Nuclear Madwoman

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 06:57:49 AM PDT

The Boston Globe, yesterday Sunday April 27, 2008, dropped the bomb :

No one who talks about "obliterating", incinerating that is, millions of innocent children, women and men with nuclear weapons should be answering the Red Phone "at any time of day or night".

Period.

This is huge.

On Saturday April 19th, 2008, a few days after Clinton's "obliterate" remarks I wrote a Daily Kos post entitled MoveOn Bashing, Nuclear WarTalk... CLINTON is a NEOCON and I seem to have been right on the money : I guess uber-NeoCon Bill Kristol really liked Clinton's talk on obliterating millions with nuclear weapons, because Kristol just wrote a glowing op-ed in support of Hilary Clinton's candidacy

the following pictures illustrating this post were drawn by survivors of the US nuclear bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima

Boston Globe: Hillary Strangelove

Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 09:33:20 AM PDT

The Boston Globe has an editorial today stating its belief that Hillary Clinton has no business in the White House after her comments on Iran:

A presidential candidate who lightly commits to obliterating Iran - and, presumably, all the children, parents, and grandparents in Iran - should not be answering the White House phone at any time of day or night.

UPDATED World View: Obliterate

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 01:09:34 PM PDT

The statement Hillary Clinton made yesterday is really bothering me. I know her supporters say it was a hypothetical question that is being blown out of proportion, but I disagree. Why she didn't simply say, 'I don't answer hypotheticals. Not when it comes to national security. Not when people's lives are at stake.' But she didn't say that. Instead, this is what Clinton said:

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran. In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."

How dangerous is this?
