I'm a security mom too.

Sat Oct 21, 2006 at 11:24:27 PM PDT

Much has been said about the security moms. They think that George W. Bush will keep them safe, and the Iraq war is a good thing.  Well, I'm a mom, and I have a few opinions about keeping my children safe.

9/11/06: No TV for Me. None at All.

Thu Sep 07, 2006 at 05:07:04 PM PDT

Like many other Kossacks, I'm furious over ABC's decision to air the so-called documentary, "The Path to 9/11."

But what you expect from a network whose parent, Walt Disney Corporation, foisted on us the appalling Britney Spears, who later became a pint-sized shill for George W. Bush and his war. Who can forget the gum-smacking Britney's reply to Tucker Carlson?

Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.

Bush In The "Bitch Seat"

Have you seen that picture of Bush on the motorcycle from a week or two ago?  Is it me? Or is this Dubya's version of Dukakis in a tank?

I'm a Security Mom and Proud of It! (POLL)

Sat Aug 19, 2006 at 11:01:47 AM PDT

All my kids are on their own, but I still worry about them.  I worry about the ones who live on the coasts - both are in target country - and I worry about the one who lives in the country (who has security issues of his own).

Republicans Losing The 'Security Moms' (w/ poll)

Fri Aug 18, 2006 at 10:03:59 AM PDT

If anyone could be described as a security mom I suppose it would be me.  It's not the only issue with me but it's definitely on my list.  We live just north of DC, and I was at my desk downtown the morning of September 11th.  I can remember that morning like it was yesterday.  We could see the smoke rising up from the Pentagon from the roof of our building.  I took the metro in and hubby knew I'd have trouble getting home, so he bundled our infant daughter into the car and tried to drive in to get me.  Needless to say, the cops stopped him before he got even a few blocks into town.

And hey let's face it - I live at Ground Zero here.

It took a while for it to set in, but as the months passed I became more and more nervous about going into the city every day for work.  What if someone gassed the metro system?  What if there was another attack & I couldn't get home to my young children?  At one point, I was considered for a new (higher paying) job in an office right near the White House, but I turned in down for a lower paying job in the suburbs.

Make the jump...
