As of now:

Signs continued to point Monday to either a runoff or outright defeat for longtime ruler Robert Mugabe in the weekend presidential election, but no final overall count was released for a second straight day.

According to initial official results released by the Zimbabwe Election Commission, with 66 of 210 parliament seats decided, Mugabe's ruling ZANU-PF party was one seat ahead of the main opposition party with no presidential results announced. The ruling party had won 31 seats and the opposition 30. Five went to other parties.

Elections in Zimbabwe

by Doughnutman

With the elections done and being counted, the opposition is claiming victory but the ruling party isn't going down easily.

The Movement for Democratic Change had claimed they have unseated President Robert G. Mugabe first party change in 28 years.

The M.D.C.’s presidential candidate is Morgan Tsvangirai, a former labor leader.

And don't forget Socks!

by Doughnutman

CNN is reporting that Chelsea Clinton has started campaigning for her mother. That is right Senator Hillary Clinton's entire immediate family is now individually stumping for her which has to be some sort of weird record. I mean all the Romeny kids are stumping for their dad, but Mrs. Romeny doesn't do anything by herself.

I am trying to decide if this makes me more or less likely to vote for Clinton.

Currently I remain undecided.

Bush vetoes water projects bill

by Doughnutman

I'm not sure if this has already posted, and if it please comment and I will take this down.

Bush brushed aside significant objections from Capitol Hill, even from Republicans, in thwarting legislation that provides money for projects like repairing hurricane damage, restoring wetlands and preventing flooding in communities across the nation.

Yup, because why spend money here when we can spend money in Iraq?

Proud to be a Democrat

by Doughnutman

This morning I watched Markos face off against Harold Ford Jr. on Meet the Press with Tim Russert David Gregory. I firmly believe that Maroks won the debate, but more then that the Democratic Party won the debate.
