San Francisco Reaches Out to Immigrants
Sun Apr 06, 2008 at 12:02:49 PM PDT
The city of San Francisco has started an advertising push with a very specific target market: illegal immigrants. And while the advertisements will come in a bundle of languages — English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese — they all carry the same message: you are safe here.
In what may be the first such campaign of its kind, the city plans to publish multilanguage brochures and fill the airwaves with advertisements relaying assurance that San Francisco will not report them to federal immigration authorities.
On the Issues with Walker-The War in Iraq

America continues to pay an enormous price in lives, financial resources, and respect in the world, for the war in Iraq.
• Nearly 4,000 American service men and women have been lost.
• Nearly 20,000 servicemen and woman have been wounded.
• Since the war began, we’ve lost an average of two soldiers each day.
• More than 40,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed. As a percentage of population, that is the equivalent of 345,000 Americans.
• More than $320 billion has already been spent, and a recent estimate by Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz suggests the total cost will exceed $1 trillion.
On the Issues with Walker- Immigration= Dream Act
Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 12:02:03 PM PDT
Every year, U.S. high schools graduate approximately 65,000 immigrant students. Brought to this country as young children by their parents, they have grown up in American K-12 schools and share our culture and values. Like their U.S.-born peers, they dream of pursuing higher education. Unfortunately, due to their immigration status, they are barred from the opportunities that make a college education affordable – in-state tuition rates, state and federal grants and loans, most private scholarships, and the ability to legally work their way through college. In effect, they are denied the opportunity to share in the "American Dream." That’s why I strongly support the DREAM Act. Don’t get me wrong people I oppose illegal immigration and believe that our immigration laws should be strictly enforced, but at the same there is near-universal agreement that our system is broken and in need of reform.
