*UPDATED* My Conversation with someone from the Obama campaign.
Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 09:07:26 PM PDT
Earlier this evening I had a twenty minute conversation with a very nice lady from the Obama campaign. I will call her "Jan." That's not her name, but I don't use real names on here.
John Dean sees a possible opening in the FISA bill.
Sun Jun 22, 2008 at 09:00:35 PM PDT
On the Keith Olbermann program, "Countdown," John Dean explains that he is troubled by the FISA bill. But he goes on to explain that the bill is so poorly written it could possibly leave an opening from criminal liability litigation later.
Places Obama and Clinton should campaign together.
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 09:16:56 PM PDT
Politico's Charles Mathsian and Amy Parnes have come out with their list of five top places Obama and Clinton should campaign together. I would like to add ten more.
My Father's Transformation and Why Today Hurts.

I grew up in a household with two Reagan-loving Republicans as parents.

Well, we seem to be getting into full swing with our voter registration drive efforts, but sometimes it's like pulling teeth getting places to agree to let us do this.

Mississippi Voter Registration Project Update. (Calling all Gulf Coasters!)
Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 05:28:39 PM PDT
As some of you know, I am trying to initiate a voter registration drive in Mississippi. It's a daunting task organizing everything, with all the research that comes with it, but I think it will be very rewarding.
Calling all Mississippians (or close by) to help with Voter Registration!
Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 09:44:40 PM PDT
I am in the process of getting together a team of volunteers to do big voter registration drives in Mississippi. We will be starting in the Gulfport / Biloxi area. (We will work our way through the entire state until every county is covered).
NOTE: If you can't help in Gulfport necessarily, but DO live in a different area of Mississippi and want to help there, drop me a line.
Why Mike Gravel lost.

The incredibly dynamic and charismatic orator Mike Gravel gave his concession speech from Nome, Alaska on Saturday morning.
Anyone from Mississippi (or know Mississippi well)?
Sat Jun 07, 2008 at 11:15:37 PM PDT
This will not be so much of a diary as a request for help with a project I am currently undertaking. I have just noticed that there are less than four months remaining to register to vote in Mississippi (and most other states for that matter).
LA Times: Obama has a HUGE lead among Latino voters! *UPDATED*
Fri Jun 06, 2008 at 09:24:40 PM PDT
For all of the copious amounts of discussion regarding the "white working class" voters or the "Reagan Democrats" in the media, you would think they constituted 80% of general election ballot-casters. However, as it turns out, with the rapid growth of the Latino community in this country, that particular voting block will be of extreme significance in the next election.
And fortunately, Barack Obama starts out with a huge advantage in this group.
*UPDATE* I just added a whole bunch of analysis regarding turnout patters, percentage of voting age Latinos who are ineligible, etc.
I want Clinton supporters to feel comfortable.
Fri Jun 06, 2008 at 09:32:17 AM PDT
It would be very tempting for some Clinton supporters to walk away from this primary feeling that the Democratic nomination was somehow stolen from her. We've seen surrogates like Terry McCaullife insist repeatedly that Hillary Clinton "won the popular vote." Mr. McCaullife even went so far as to introduce Senator Clinton as "the next President of the United States" on Tuesday just as Barack Obama attained the necessary number of delegates to clinch the nomination.
What this diary seeks to do is put all of Senator Clinton's supporters' minds at ease and to reassure them that Senator Obama did not only win the delegate count, but also the popular vote. The statistics I will be using are the absolute most up-to-the-minute ones I could find. This diary is just a trifle lengthy, so if nothing else, I hope people will read the last three paragraphs.
Is Obama hinting at Mark Warner for VP?
Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 01:23:31 PM PDT
I realize these diaries have become somewhat commonplace. But there's something Obama said recently that signals that he is at least considering Mark Warner for his Vice Presidential slot, in my opinion.
And the loser is... ARG!
Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 08:51:30 AM PDT
Yes, that's right, ARG once again proved why they are the laughing stock of the polling world yesterday.
Open Thread: I voted in MT or SD.
Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 01:30:05 AM PDT
This is just an open thread for voters in either MT or SD. There has been massive turnout in early voting in both states, so it's appropriate to go ahead with this thread now. Please keep this diary recced.
My Final Prediction Diary of the Primary: Montana and South Dakota
Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 10:12:50 AM PDT
Actually, I've already posted diaries predicting the outcome of the Montana and South Dakota primaries, so this is kind of a rehash. But, I posted my Montana diary in the middle of the night, and very few people got a chance to see it.
South Dakota prediction: Obama 56.4% Clinton 42.6%
Sat May 31, 2008 at 04:56:34 PM PDT
Although there was a recent AP article alluding to the race in South Dakota tightening up, I don't think it will be all that close.
New Yorkers want her outta there.
Thu May 29, 2008 at 09:50:53 PM PDT
Even though New York is Hillary Clinton's home state, a majority of New York Democrats want her to quit the race.
