Possible virus problem at HuffPo

by SCFrog

A friend and me recently got hit by a very similar virus, a mutation of Virtumonde, on both our work machines.  We don't view many sites and/or browse porn on our professional boxes; the only site we both have in common is Huffington Post.  More after the jump.

Equal treatment for Prop 8 supporters

by SCFrog

In the run-up to last November's election, Proposition 8 supporters ProtectMarriage.com tried to blackmail opponents of their initiative to kill gay marriage.  People who donated to No On 8 received letters stating their names would be revealed to the public, unless they gave a like amount (note the careful avoidance of the word "equal") to the Hate Amendment.

Cause and effect? Obama vs Bank Execs

When Obama spoke of limiting executive salaries in financial receiving bailouts, executives squealed mightily about how they should have incentives to run their businesses.

Karma's a bitch

by SCFrog

Richard Mellon Scaife, right-wing billionaire Clinton underwear-sniffer, sponsor of yellow journalism like the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and American Spectator, and funder of Heritage Foundation wingnuttery pimping their "Culture Of Marriage" and "Family Values", is himself getting divorced.  More after the flip.

No time to gloat

by SCFrog

I have a friend who describes himself as being to the right of Alaric the Visigoth.  We get along well on other subjects, such as the supernal beauty of the Mikoyan Design Bureau's products, the comfort of a tumbler full of good brandy on a cold winter night, and the essentiality of a hickory-grilled steak on a sunny weekend.

At long last

by SCFrog

Bill Kristol dances and weaves, then blames the voters of Florida for returning Mark Foley.  Matt Drudge points to some winger's website and outs one of the pages.  Fox News, well, what is there left to be said about an entire organization that only God's mighty thunderbolt could cleanse?  Now the Religious Right is trying to blame it on gays, which one supposes was inevitable, despite documented proof that 98% of abuse is straight?

David Kelly may have been murdered

by SCFrog

Tony Blair claimed in 2003 that Iraq could launch bacteriological or chemical weapons within 45 minutes of a go order.  David Kelly was a scientist who had proofread the intelligence dossier and was unconvinced of that statement, so he decided to speak with reporters undercover to tell them the conclusions drawn by the Prime Minister were flawed.  When the newspapers hit the street, the PM's office undertook a strenuous search to find the source of the leak, whereupon Kelly then was called twice before the House of Commons.

Vice-President thinks America will tank

by SCFrog

According to Kiplinger's investment magazine, Cheney's people think the economy is headed for the rocks.

http://www.kiplinger.com/...

Vice President Cheney's financial advisers are apparently betting on a rise in inflation and interest rates and on a decline in the value of the dollar against foreign currencies. That's the conclusion we draw after scouring the financial disclosure form released by Cheney this week.

It seems these eminent scribes, not satisfied with merely reliving the late-90s orgy of panty-sniffing around the Clenis, want to recreate those halcyon days of carefree underwear examination.

Tim Krieder has a finely honed sense of outrage, and he's not afraid to use it.  Some of my favorites are:
