Note to the Obama Campaign:  Time to employ a technique from martial arts...take your opponent's momentum and turn it back on him.

If McCain wants to use celebrities to illustrate a point, let's go right back at him.

As a physician, I would NEVER make a diagnosis based on what I see on video or television, but I would like to raise an issue that the MSM (AS USUAL) is not bringing up.

The issue is not John McCain's age per se (although his age places him at greater risk for some diseases than younger individuals--its not ageism, epidemiology).

One of my clients informed me today that she was thinking of voting for John McCain!!

A divorced self-employed woman in her early sixties, struggling to make ends meet, too young for Medicare, but finding it hard to find health insurance?  Abandoned by her husband for a younger woman?  Suffering from the daily anguish of worrying about her youngest son stationed in the Middle East?

AND SHE IS THINKING OF VOTING FOR JOHN McCAIN?

I almost fell out of my chair.  Uncertain whether to scream or laugh, I did neither...

Call me "bitter" but I thought that HRC's speech tonight was AWFUL.

Narcissistic, self-absorbed, and most of all, graceless.

You follow the rules.

You adjust your strategy according to the rules.

You allocate time, money, and personnel according to the rules.

And then, just when you think you have the game in hand and the clock is winding down, your opponent petitions the referees to change the rules to change the final score.

Welcome to a game of Hillary-ball.

So far BHO leads in states won, popular vote (unless you disingenuously count the discredited votes from Michigan and Florida), pledged delegates and super delegates.

And now, with the shot clock winding down, and BHO with an insurmountable lead, HRC claims that her wins in West Virginia and Kentucky will alter who has won and who has lost the nomination.

Sorry, HRC, but in the basketball vernacular, all points are not created equal.  For those of you who are not familiar, points scored after the game has already been decided are not looked at as the same as points scored when the game is on the line.  Those meaningless points, in "garbage time", just don't carry much weight.

It's not just how many points you tally, its also when you score them in a contest.

I must be dense.

Florida and Michigan moved their primary dates in violation of DNC rules.

They were told that their primaries would not count and their delegations would be not be seated.

And now this:

So now Hillary Clinton thinks it is really funny that she is so tough she makes Rocky Balboa look like a "pansy".  Thanks Governor Easley:  why don't you just say:  Hillary Clinton is so tough she makes Rocky Balboa look like a FAG.  I mean, that's what you meant isn't it?

 And nothing I hate more than a man who is a sissy, right Mike?  

Maybe the long campaign has made me exhausted.  But not tonight.  Me:  I am fired up.

Although I sometimes have enjoyed MoDo's columns in the NY Times, I am tired of her, along with Wolf Blitzer, Nora O'Donnell, Charlie Gibson, George Stephanopoulos, and Andrea Mitchell, and the rest of the MSM gasbags promoting the theme that BHO is an ELITIST.

For MoDo, this is her long standing modus operandi.

She did it to Al Gore.  She did it to John Kerry.  Now she is trying to do it to Barack Obama.  If you are a progressive political figure, you are an elitist.  End of story.  

Why?  I don't know.  Maybe she has a subconscious streak of self-loathing, given her blue collar background...but now finding herself on the pages of NY Times.  Maybe she is angry at all the Ivy Leaguers she has to jostle with in the coffee shops of the Upper West Side, while she only sports a degree from Catholic University.

Whatever....

The metrics for HRC's success as a presidential candidate have changed, by her campaign and the MSM, more often than the direction of the wind.  She has moved from the inevitable nominee to overwhelming favorite to frontrunner to underdog to who knows what incarnation...

But I prefer to judge her by  a different standard, linking together her most notable political moments:

The code words of the Republicans and now Hillary Clinton, with support from Maureen Dowd and other assorted MSM figures.

When a man is called an elitist, they mean he is a sissy.  Weak.  A coward.  Not able to protect America.  Not able to stand up for his beliefs.

But these words have other particular connotations, which the Repubs insinuate ad libitum.  And now Hillary and her indescribably destructive campaign is imitating.

Hillary's campaign is starting to remind me of that famous song from the movie 'Gigi"

One of the wittiest scripts ever written was "All About Eve", a parable about the egos and narcissism of show business.

Someone once said:  "Politics is show business for ugly people".  Well, we have a lot of ugliness churning in the Democratic primary campaign.

The lynchpin of HRC's current rendering is her matchless experience.  Take that away, and her current rationale for running against Obama becomes hollow.  As scrutiny turns to her claims, this rationale is starting to wither.

One can NEVER be shocked by more news of the ineptitude of the Bush administration.

From monitoring Al Qaeda BEFORE 9/11 to managing the aftermath of Katrina, not to mention, the invasion of Iraq, energy independence, global warming, etc, etc, etc, this is one administration that has been UNREADY since DAY ONE.

And one of the chief incompetents is none other than Condi Rice, delinquent as National Security Advisor, and a failure as Secretary of State.

More likely than not, the Passport Security Breach is merely incompetence.

HOWEVER, given the politicization of EVERY ASPECT OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, something else may be at work here.

I continue to fear for the future of our progressive movement and our chances in the fall with the posts I read at myDD.com and other pro-Clinton websites.

The level of vitriol makes me wonder if I have wandered onto a FREEPER website.

While I find that Rev. Wright is over the top with some of his polemics, especially the Goddamn America  litany and HIV as a government plot against blacks, he isn't the only lunatic religious leader embracing some of our leading candidates.

Indeed one, by the name of John McCain, has sought out the SUPPORT of TWO religious nut jobs whose public statements easily match or exceed those of Rev. Wright.

Why isn't he held accountable?

Hillary Clinton is like the aging diva who cannot give up the limelight.  

Her scorched earth campaign isn't about anything other than her own narcissism and raging sense of entitlement:  sustained by the belief that she and only she knows what is best for America, and a lifetime spent waiting for this moment in the sun.

Short of either Hillary or Barack walking away, I do not see an easy end to the current campaign conundrum.

Let me propose a solution, which is probably more a fantasy than reality.
