Welcome back.

On July 30, 2008, a former high-level employee of the Interior Department's Mineral Management Service pled guilty in US District Court to the felony of violating conflict of interest laws regarding work subsequent to government employment. Jimmy Mayberry could potentially receive a 5 year prison sentence and a $250,000.00 fine.
But this may not be the end of the story.
Welcome back.

In these waning days of the current misadministration, it seems that Bushco is still intent upon gifting industry and weakening environmental safeguards. In this episode, it is the National Marine Fisheries Service, part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that is attempting to do the gift-giving.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Powering our towns/cities by alternative means, that is.
Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Congress has ordered the reopening of EPA libraries, previously closed in what can only be seen as a gift to the corporate overlords. Complying with the letter of the law but not the spirit, the EPA will reopen 4 of the closed libraries but on a smaller scale. In fact, the Chicago library will be only marginally larger than a men's lavatory.
Welcome back.

Welcome back.
