The past week I've been moved to tears and anger by many many comments pouring out your fears, anger, and even feelings of hopelessness into diary after diary.
But, we need to do something with those posts. We need to innundate Sen Reid and Rep Pelosi with those posts.
They aren't going to read all these diaries but you've got them in your comments. You don't have to rewrite them, unless you want to remove the curse words :-). You can copy and paste them into an email and send them.
We must let our righteous anger wash over them until they feel it in every fiber of their being. Until they can't escape it just as those trapped in their attics can't escape. We must be their voices. We can't let their voices be drowned.

Yesterday, Lourey and Rowley went to Crawford Texas to support Cindy Sheehan, a mother of a solider who was killed in Iraq. Sheehan had been holding vigil in front of the Bush ranch until she had to leave when her mother suffered a stroke. Lourey and Rowley will be returning home from Camp Casey this Sunday. Let's welcome them home and show them how much we love and support them. Let's thank these two fabulous women who consistently put principles over politics.

Coleen Rowley, running for John Kline's seat and MN Sen. Becky Lourey who's son died in Iraq in May are going to join Cindy Sheehan in Crawford.
Lourey has been a vocal critic of the war from the get-go.
There are also quite a few vigils happening around the Mpls-St.Paul metro area tomorrow.

Just today I sent off the state signatures to volunteers who will be delivering them to Lieberman (CT), Nelson (NE), Corzine (NJ), Biden (DE), and Ford (TN).
On 6/30 IL signatures went to Obama, and on 7/1 MD signatures went to Hoyer.

It will be delivered to Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Reid on Friday. There may be pictures of the delivery.
State signatures going to Sen. Obama's(IL) Chicago office on Thursday and Sen. Hoyer's (MD) DC office on Friday.
In upcoming weeks Senator's Corzine (NJ), Lieberman (CT), Nelson (NE), Biden (DE) and Ford (TN) will get their state signatures.
A big thank-you to all the volunteer petition deliverers. They are printing it on their own dime and making calls to set times for the delivery. And they've had to be persistent in order to make it happen.
And an equally big thank-you to katiebird who did all the signature file cleanup and expert Excel spreadsheet formatting. And everybody else who publicized, linked to, signed, and helped make this happen. I'm skipping the 'fun facts' quiz, you all get an A+

Ben Nelson is the only person who was on the Dean Speaks for Me petition delivery list who does not have any volunteers to deliver it.
This is the last call to Nebraskans.
Let me know if you're willing to volunteer to deliver the petition signatures to his home office. Doesn't have to be to him directly. Could be his Chief of Staff or, as a last resort, leave it at the office and ask that they give it to him.
This is the last weekend for signatures.
The petition is going to congress next week.

The volunteers for Pelosi and Reid are waiting to hear back from their schedulers about the date for delivery next week.
Through this weekend is the last push for signatures. Let's send as close to 20,000 signatures to congress as we can get.
3 things you can do:
1. Continue to encourage people to sign the petition. If you haven't signed it yet, click on the petition graphic.
2. If you know of a blog that took down the link to the petition, ask them to put this link back on their site through next week. Post about the last push and delivery in open threads on other blogs, include this url: www.petitiononline.com/Dean/petition.html
3. Generate some buzz by calling or emailing your congressional delegation. Include a link to the petition or mention it when you call. Tell them it will be delivered to the congressional leadership next week.

The petition delivery list includes: Pelosi and Reid as the congressional leadership, Biden, Obama, Ford, Lieberman, Nelson, Hoyer, Corzine.
Who's covered: Pelosi and Reid, Biden, Obama, Ford, Lieberman, Hoyer, Corzine. The current volunteers are making appointments to get dates for delivery nailed down. Pelosi and Reid will get it before the July 4 recess. The others will follow.
What's still needed:
Could use another volunteer for Obama. Or does anyone know if there's a DFA chapter in Chicago that could help out? Send me the link if there is.
Still need volunteers for Nelson. Currently have none.

In googling for comments made by Democrats I think that Ben Nelson, Steny Hoyer and Jon Corzine should be added to the special delivery list.
Update 6/22: Still need volunteers for Nelson and Hoyer.
Could use another volunteer for Corzine and one for Obama so the current volunteer doesn't have to go alone.
Does anybody have an email list for major media outlets to send a press release to that you could email me?

The petition is approaching 17,000 signatures. The new goal is 20,000 signatures. To get a more accurate count of "good" signatures, subtract 5% from the total the site shows.

I have 2 Obama, 1 Ford, and 1 possible Lieberman delivery volunteers.

"I signed the petition and I'll post this to our DFA yahoo group. Meanwhile, I'm drafting a letter to Senator Biden from our group and we will be collecting original signatures on it between now and July 13th. The petition signature file is being checked for duplicates or trolls I may have missed when I was approving them. Then tomorrow it will be overnight mailed to TX (oh, the irony of that!) for delivery to Governor Dean at the DemFest this weekend. My understanding is that Jim Dean will present it when he introduces the Governor. I'll try to find out the time and post it here.
I will do a petition delivery diary tomorrow and post the final signature #'s that will be sent to the Governor.

Breaking: It is confirmed! The petition signatures will be delivered to Governor Dean at the DemFest this weekend. Katiebird is working on getting the files cleaned.
