Stomach-turning list of right-wing hypocrisy

If you've seen this list before, my apologies.
If you haven't seen this list before, my apologies.

What are they trying to distract us from now?

Fri May 20, 2005 at 03:58:12 PM PDT

I cannot for the life of me sort this one out.

Junior is once again out on the road with his Social Security Pantyraid and Gulliblelooza Dance Party Craptacular-with New & Improved Youthful Audience Fawning!tm-while Senator Palpatine and his merry band of whore puppets self-flagellate on the Senate floor over the indignities suffered by the majority, "who just want what all Americans want:  qualified vicious snapping attack judges to do the bidding of corporations and the Talibangelical warlords of America." (quote is all me)

Lose T.V., Gain Peace

getmeoutofdixie's diary this morning got me thinking again about social constructs, self-image, and the all-consuming Race for Stuff that has taken over our lives in America.  Bear with me as I make the case for a way out (don't worry, I'll leave the preaching to pastordan)...

Test your skills of media scrutiny by providing the source and, for extra credit, the approximate date!

I stumbled across this press release last night that struck me as timely:

FORMER REPUBLICAN WOMAN IN DNC RACE?

Wed Dec 15, 2004 at 01:31:16 PM PDT

From AP Wednesday, December 15.

Molly Beth Malcolm, a Republican-turned-Democrat, is apparently considering a run for DNC Chair.

She was the head of the Texas Democratic Party from 1998-2003.  A petition was circulated last weekend unbeknownst to her to recruit her to run for the position.

While I am personally rooting for Dean, this wouldn't be a bad thing.  She's very articulate, aggressive and attractive and would put a good Southern female face on the party.

We'll see.

Red Mountain State Invasion: Operation Blue Dawn

Fri Nov 12, 2004 at 05:04:27 PM PDT

I'm tired of talking vision, men (and chicks).  Now we talk demographics and geography.  It's time for definitive action!  We take over the Red mountain states with a two pronged offensive attack-Operation Blue Dawn.
Pack your bags people.  We leave at daybreak!

Here are your assignments:  (If you're east of Texarkana and south of the Mason-Dixon you're out.  We're giving up on the dead wood and looking west.  Now go away.)

This holiday season tell the Corporate Purveyors of Crap, Bite Me

Wed Nov 10, 2004 at 05:02:09 PM PDT

That's right.  This year they can just kiss my ass.  I will no longer feel compelled to go out and "support the economy" with my mindless meandering sprees.  No more looking out for cheap tchotchkes for Aunt Ethel, no more useless universal remotes for Brother Ray.  No more kitschy kitchen gadgets for Mama Jandey, or distractingly destructive power tools for Mr. Jandey.

Oh, no.  Why should I line the pockets of executives who've sent our manufacturing overseas (can you even find an object NOT made in China anymore?) and contributed the vast majority of their money to the other side?  Screw that!

Britons think Bush is winning 52%-OUR FIGHT IS NOT OVER

Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 10:04:25 AM PDT

My sister-in-law called my husband first thing this morning to give us some numbers of realtors in London so we can prepare for our move.  She's convinced by the news reports (from 8am EST, no less) that claim he's already well ahead of Kerry!

Kossacks, we have work to do tomorrow and I'm not talking about legal challenges, but about perceptions.  I'll need feedback from you about our biggest task ahead.

More of the ridiculous, then the sublime below.
