Texas Kossacks! A bunch of corporate thieves, political thugs, & religious nutcases took over Texas & used it as a stepping stone to DC. Y'all ready to do something about it? We're taking Texas Back.

Carville Just Gave the South (& YOU) the Middle Finger

Like many of you, I was shocked to hear James Carville attack Howard Dean and his 50-State Strategy, blaming the chairman for losing us seats in a year when we gained so many at the National and STATE levels.

But there's something particularly insulting for us Southerners in what James Carville statements. By questioning the 50-State Strategy in favor for Carville's ONE-STATE Strategy (DC), Carville gave the entire South the Middle Finger.

See, this thing's a little more personal to me - perhaps more than what many of you Northers may feel.

UPDATE: Texas Landscaper Refuses to Work for Gay Couple

Update is at end. A small Houston landscaping company is in the news big time for refusing service to a gay couple because the religous conservatives won't work with homosexuals.

Michael Lord and Gary Lackey, a gay couple requesting bids for a landscaping job at their new house, received a polite ? and, well, honest ? e-mail from Sabrina Farber, a co-owner of Garden Guy: "I need to tell you that we cannot meet with you because we choose not to work for homosexuals."

The Farbers have gotten tons of hate emails at their company site, but claim they have also gotten alot of support.

"We become accidental crusaders for Christ," said Mrs. Farber.

The Farbers have also gotten lots of hate mail, making them claim, "The crowd of tolerance and diversity is not so tolerant."

Mrs. Farber, I apologize, but you're full of crap. Not only are you using the Lord's name in vain, but you also may not legally discriminate against people.

Reichtwing Blogs Go Nuts (or Nuttier?)

And since Blogs only became a political power during this Reichtwing government, it's not a surprise they acted so damn cocky and egotistical. They never knew a virtual Universe in which they did not have power.

Well, payback is a BITCH, fellas!!

I put on my raincoat and anti-parasitic sprays, and combed some Reichtwing Blogs for reactions. As you would expect there is alot of finger pointing, whining, frustration and just good ole in-fighting!

Here are some choice words from the Fighting 101st Keyboardists on the flip!

Texas Republican State Rep Sucker Punches Opponent

Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 03:37:12 PM PDT

Holy Crap! Look on the frontpage of the Austin Statesman!

Rick Green, a former Republican State Rep, obviously held a grudge against the guy who beat him, Democrat Patrick Rose.

Green went to the poll Rose was campaigning at and punched Rose!

Jackie Whalen, a witness to the incident, said she was standing in line to vote when she saw Rose and Green standing and talking between two vehicles. She said she saw Green push Rose against a sport-utility vehicle and then punch Rose in the face.

Rose was unhurt and said, "Next time I see Rick, I'll remember to keep my left up."

Did ya hear that? That was the sound of Republicans cracking because of stress!

Green turned himself in this afternoon at the Hays County Sheriff's office and was charged with assault with bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor that carries a maximum punishment of one year in jail and a $4,000 fine, Lt. Leroy Opiela said.

Ahhhh, Republicans just couldn't let this election go by without one more GOP arrest, could they?

TX Dem Party Files Federal Lawsuit Against Electronic Voting

Tue Oct 31, 2006 at 11:29:22 AM PDT

Well, since we've got two excellent diaries on the Texas Electronic Voting machines on the rec list, how about adding another?

As reported by dfwmom at TexasKaos.com, the Tarrant County Democratic Party has filed a federal lawsuit

"The Tarrant County Democratic Party and four local voters have filed a federal lawsuit against the Texas secretary of state declaring that the electronic voting machines used in Tarrant County are unconstitutional and in violation of federal law."

Let the fireworks begin!

There seems to be two groups among Kossacks regarding the voting problems we're having.

1. Those that believe it's not fraud but poor programming, poor calibration, technology issues, etc...

2. And those that believe there's fraud.

I posted a diary at TK on this & on the other two diaries on the voting machines here and here but I'll summarize again on the flip.

George Bush annexs...the Universe. No, Really.

Wow. I'm at a loss for words. Exactly how does one annex the Universe??

In what may be the most representative act - of himself - that King George has ever done IMHO, and perhaps the one Historians will use to symbolize him, George Bush, the President of the United States, annexed space.

Yes. SPACE. I am not quite sure if he has annexed the other planets (would Pluto still count?) or the Sun, but we still have a couple years to go.

If not, I am sure this will lead to planetary arms race as other country will quickly snap up loose asteroids, stars and quasars.

President Bush has signed an order asserting the United States' right to deny adversaries access to space for hostile purposes.

Mr. Bush also said the United States would oppose the development of treaties or other restrictions that seek to prohibit or limit U.S. access to or use of space.

Man, he really does have a God-complex.

That laughter you hear is the world when they read what the "ugly Americans & Cowboy President" did again. SIGHHHHHH!

A National Shame: 300 Millionth American

Tue Oct 17, 2006 at 03:34:47 PM PDT

Originally posted at TexasKaos.com

In 1967, as America anticipated the birth of the 200 millionth American, Life magazine sent 23 news teams around the nation to cover the birth of the baby. As the exact minute approached, doctors actually told mothers to slow down or "Push harder - and you'll be in Life  magazine." But the exact minute - which was the Census clock - was stopped for three full minutes so that Democratic President, Lydon B. Johnson, could throw a big celebration for 200 millionth baby.

Appropriately, that baby was Robert Woo, an Asian-American who perfectly reflected the new, more multi-cultural direction of America. It was a birth and milestone that the President and America celebrated together.

I like to think that any birth is a celebration of the future and an expression in your confidence that what we do today will create a future worth passing onto our children. It is an expression of hope as much as love.

"KKK Democrats bamboozled blacks!"

"Party of Lincoln"? Give me a f'ing break. You guys want to get rid of the penny with its image of Lincoln, how the hell are you guys going to keep his ideals over 150 years later?

So seeing a bunch of rich white folks get up in front LULAC or NAACP, as King George finally brought himself to, and argue that the GOP actually cares for blacks and minorities - well, it's not just funny. It's insulting.

I mean just where the hell do these guys think we've been for the past 6 years? Hello?

Katrina. Voter disenfranchisement of black & poor voters in not one but TWO Presidential elections? The whole illegal immigration is going to destroy America bullshit? You name it and the GOP has done it to hurt minority voters.

FEMA Diretor will watch Spike Lee's Katrina documentary IF...

IF he isn't "bogged down" in hurricane relief efforts this.

FEMA director R. David Paulison said Monday that if he is not too busy grappling with hurricane season, he'll probably catch Lee's film, "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts," scheduled to air on HBO Aug. 21-22, just ahead of the first anniversary of the Aug. 29 storm that devastated New Orleans.

Um. WHAT hurricane? Considering how quiet it's been this season, Paulison, are you really going to use that lame excuse?

Desperate Housewife Syndrome is REAL. Is the show?

I have mixed feelings about the show and wondered if any of you felt the same. No, I have no desire to watch the show. I watched a couple episodes for reasons I'll get to below (& no, it wasn't just cuz I'm a Foley, I mean, a dirty old man!). Frankly, I wasn't missing much.

Good god, is this REALLY how them women folk are? No wonder we didn't let them out tha kitchen, hyuck, hyuck!

And that - the gossiping, the cat-fighting, the petty daily clashes - is the problem I have with the show.

Desperation among many housewives is very real and can lead to real mental illnesses among women. And I'm not sure if the show deals with this issue honestly or just takes advantage of the sex and pettiness for ratings.

Joe Scarborough asks Democrats to help protect pedophiles

Much like the Abramoff scandal, former and current Republican politicians are trying desperately to make the Foley scandal a "bi-partisan" scandal. Nevermind that like the Abramoff scandal, they can't find ANY Democrat connected with the Foley or PageBoyGate. This time Democrats didn't even KNOW about the scandal as Republican leaders like Dennis Hasert suppressed all the information about Foley's pedophilia.

But that's not going to stop them from inventing crap, will it?

Let's see, we've got Matt Drudge saying that these 16-year old kids led the poor old (um, 52-year old) man on. Poor baby.

And we've got MSNBC letting Republicans say that Democrats are much much worse - without any evidence or challenge even from the show.

And Tony Snow of course "corrected" himself about his "simple naught emails" slip and still attacked the Democrats.

Now Joe Scarborough jumps in with his brilliance. Former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough, who still claims Foley as a friend, is now asking Democrats for help to protect pedophiles. Hyperbole?  You decide - fair and balanced.

In the four way race for the Texas Governor, we are seeing Democrat Chris Bell, a genuine populist and man of the people, narrow the gap between him and unpopular GOPer Rick Perry to 5 points. What's frustrating is that many of the Democrats voting this year will vote for faux-Independent, Bush-buddy Kinky Friedman, that funny guy you just, shucks, gotta love.

Or do you? The more you find out about Kinky, the less you are gonna like him and Texans need to wake up before we once again repeat the mistakes of 2000 & vote in the GOP.

Do these fundamentalists really think they can turn the US back 30 years?

Apparantly they do.

Charles Barkley: "Republicans have lost their minds"

Charles Barkley has always talked about running as for the Governor of Alabama - but as a Republican.

However, Barkley has switched parties and is now talking about running in 2010 as a Democrat. With his usual candor, Barkley stated the obvious reason for the switch:

Barkley continued to identify himself as a Republican until recently, when he switched parties. "I was a Republican until they lost their minds," he said earlier this month.

"The Republicans have screwed up the country. ... They use the word 'conservative,' which means discriminatory practices."

Barkley also has a lot to say about Democrats and Gay Marriage and, hell, about anything really. And of course, the Alabama GOP responded with class, right?

I've said the exact same thing (but "Use the bitch" is not quite so eloquent). That's why I don't get so angry any more when Coulter says something.

I actually think there is a value to wingnuts like Blogs for Bush or Ann Coulter or Katherine Harris ("Separation of Church & State is a lie & electing non-Christians leads to Sin").

I understand the real desire to spare yourself from brain damage by avoiding these extremists and their incoherant rants - but sometimes you can find real gems in their, um, brilliance.

Gems (or is it stones?) that you can use to bury the GOP.

Yeah, Ann Coulter is a bitch (among worse things) but every time Coulter (or Malkin or...) says something extreme (which is, um,  like all the time), she reminds Americans that the the GOP "Compassionate Conservative/We're really not that crazy" meme is just plain bullshit.
